My Review of "The Movies That Made Us: Season 1"
The Movies That Made Us, is a TV series that talk about some iconic 80's movies. They explain how they were made and some of the obstacles that they had to overcome to get made. I wasn't sure if I was going to get into this series but I was quickly enamored by each episode and I quickly binged it.

My Review of "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: Season 2"
I've heard of RuPaul's Drag Race for a long time but never got to see a full season. My girlfriend has been watching it non stop and I'd join her to watch an episode or two. This is the first time I watched through a full season with her.

My Review of "Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood"
In 2018 I reviewed a beautiful documentary about Fred Rogers called "Won't You Be My Neighbor". It was filled with nostalgia and informed us about how great Fred Rogers really was. A year later studios decided to make a drama called "Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" which stars Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers.

My Review of "Jo Koy: Comin' in Hot"
I have to admit that I'm not familiar with Jo Koy or his type of comedy. I haven't seen his other specials but Ronnie Chieng made me want to check out other acts that I would never thought of checking. Jo Koy is a Filipino comedian and he's getting a lot of buzz lately. I wanted to check out why.

No Matter your Point of View, ‘Snowden’ Gets your Attention
In American movies it’s pretty much the good guys versus the bad guys – the heroes manageable flaws not withstanding. So when the drama takes into account real events, you must watch it through that prism and when you add in the controversial Oliver Stone, well...

Six Flying Dragons
In 2010, I received a packet to teach in Korea. I was looking for a job and desperate to apply to any opportunity. I thought about the plane tickets and the challenge of moving to a new country, so I decided to no longer teach in Korea. Then, there was the gnam gnam style song that took the world by storm. I thought it was funny and nice. Then a friend of mine told me he would be working and living in a Korea for few years. He did not ony live in Korea but married a korean lady. Then, here comes my then finance and now-wife. She introduced me to Korean dramas. I found myself watching both the historical dramas and modern drams. Somehow, I was more captivated by the historical dramas than the modern/ romance dramas.

Further musings on my 2nd viewing of 'BLACKkKLANSMAN'...
Further musings on my 2nd viewing of BLACKkKLANSMAN: In this film, Members of the Black Student Union and other black/ African-American activists state, on more than one occasion, “All power to ALL the people”... at the core of my heart, I love this mantra & appreciate its presence in this film, it being a period piece of sorts.

The Chi
Character breakdown. The Chi (pronounced The Shy) short for Chicago, is a relatively new tv series by the brilliant Lena Whaite airing on Showtime about to go into its third season and rightly so, this show is paced perfectly and takes you to the heart of what it's like being working class and black in the Southside of Chicago trying your hardest to keep afloat and your kids on the right path, trying to hold down a steady job and make something of your life when the odds are stacked against you at every turn, all the while trying to dodge the grenades life keeps throwing your way.

My Review of "The Blind Side"
The Blind Side came out back in 2009 and I remember seeing this movie multiple times. 10 years later I decided to watch it again. I wasn't sure how good this movie was until I re-watched it recently. Obviously after 10 years there are a few controversies surrounding this movie including Michael Oher's take on the movie, and the fact that people are against movies about "white saviors".
