‘Me Before You’ (2016) vs ‘Pretty Woman’ (1990)
Four years ago, when I still headed a literature club in Geneva (Switzerland), we had the book ‘Me Before You’ by Jojo Moyes read and discussed. The discussion coincided with the release of the movie of the same title. I remember the heated discussion that went around the subject of true love and whether Will loved Clark. Apart from myself and another woman everyone else thought that it was a tragic but romantic story and a true love. At the time, I could not convince those ladies that they were mistaken for the author would not have titled the book ‘Me Before You’ if the story was simply a tragic-romantic one. The title of the book as well as the movie bares a deeper thought and reflects on the old male paradigm. The very same paradigm that was applied in the movie ‘Pretty Woman’ (1990).

My Review of "So Undercover"
So Undercover came out back in 2012 and its surprising how fast things change. Back in the day this movie would have been pretty acceptable and even ahead of its time. Today it sort of feels dated and somewhat amateurish in terms of movies even for a kid made for young adults.

BETWEEN WORLDS: a deliriously bonkers (and bad, but brilliant, but mostly bad) supernatural-horror-thriller-erotic-drama-comedy, starring Nicolas Cage as a shagaholic Deep South trucker.
From literally the very first second of 2018's Between Worlds, upon sight of the basic-ass Times New Roman default font they chose for the main titles, the first thought that sprang to mind was:

Why I actually enjoyed Julie and the Phantoms
I grew up in the era of Big Time Rush and The Jonas Brothers, this show actually brought me back to why I loved shows of the same category. True this show did have me cringing at some points, it’s still a very solid premise and premiered its idea tremendously.

A Film Addict Reviews! Baahubali 2: The Conclusion
I’ve never thought I would sucked into a film franchise like this one. Baahubali: The Beginning was way too good for its own sake that I needed to see how the sequel follows up on it. I needed to know what else it brought to the table. The case with sequels is that they usually do not match up to the first film and I was curious if that was the same with this film, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

Viewing Varda Part One: ‘La Pointe Courte’
When the news broke on March 29th, 2019 that Agnès Varda had passed away at age 90 from cancer, the film world mourned, but I did not. I recognized the name of course, but had I seen any of her films? As it turned out, actually yes. About 18 months prior, I had enjoyed an obscure documentary called Faces Places; I remembered it being very cute, and that the old woman’s hairstyle was quite strange. So that was that, and I moved on. It would be over a year until I, too, mourned the loss of one of the greatest, most important filmmakers to ever live.

My Review of "Vampires Vs. The Bronx"
Vampires Vs. The Bronx just came out and I was excited to see it. I'm all about these hokey kid adventure movies probably because of my fond memories of the Goonies. Movies about rag tag gang of kids saving the day is pretty popular now. Probably because everyone else has fond memories of the Goonies as well.

A Film Addict Reviews! Baahubali: The Beginning
Over the past year, I’ve been trying to branch out my movie selection by drifting away from the western films I’ve grown up on and watch more of the eastern selection. I started out with some Hong Kong films and those were decent in themselves but I’ve never gone Bollywood until I saw a gif over men being catapulted off a palm tree, rolling up into a barrel and fall down completely unharmed. I knew right then and there, I needed to see whatever film this was and that’s how I found out about Baahubali!

The Broken Hearts Gallery Review: A Lighthearted Rom-Com With Small But Forgivable Issues
Spoiler Free So, this movie is was the first one I got to go watch at a theatre in a long time, a drive-thru, but still counts. My fiance and I got our camping chairs, Icee, and popcorn and were so excited just to watch a new release live. This also comes with an interesting perspective because just being able to go out and watch a movie again gives me rose-colored glasses while reviewing this, but I'm going to take those off and give you an honest opinion.

My Review of "Downhill"
Downhill is an interesting movie that can be interpreted in a lot of different ways. In a way it could be a reflection in the self reflection later on in older age. Then again it could also be looked at as a quirky awkward comedy. There are some laughs in this movie but you have to understand the type of humor to "get it". Today this sort of awkward humor is pretty popular and it's probably the only humor you can have in movies nowadays without people getting triggered and angry with a movie. So I don't blame this type of humor being more prevalent. The only thing is, it's not really my bag of humor.

My Review of "A Knight's Tale"
A Knight's Tale is a movie that came out back in 2001. At the time they wanted to make an updated spin on medieval movies. The problem is that something that might seem updated back in 2001 might seem dated in 2020. There's a few elements to this movie that we come to expect but for the most part it is still an enjoyable movie.
