Movie Review: 'Endangered Species' Good Intentions Can't Mask Bad Melodrama
The makers of the new movie Endangered Species starring Rebecca Romijn appear to have their heart in the right place. Director M.J Bassett is a nature documentarian by trade and is passionate about the protection of African wildlife, specifically the waning Rhino population. Unfortunately, crafting a melodramatic narrative about the need to protect the Rhino is deeply misguided in execution. When a rich family gets caught in the middle of the African wilderness while just trying to see a Rhino, it’s hard not to root for the rhino to teach them a lesson.

Movie Review: 'Cruella' is a Feast for the Eyes . Top Story - May 2021.
Cruella is a punk rock visual fantasia shot through the prism of the Disney empire. Directed by Craig Gillespie, and starring Emma Stone, the film carries a distinctive aesthetic but one wonders what beats beneath the metaphorical chest of this spectacle. Sure, we do have the emotion of yet another dead Disney parent, one killed before our very eyes near the start of the film, but we’ve grown so used to this Disney trope that the impact is relatively minor.

6 Considerations in the lost art of curating a DVD collection.
DVDs are of course still around, you can easily find them at big box stores or online. They don’t have the same cultural cache they once did though. I still occasionally pick up a DVD, but there’s a good chance it’ll just sit in my TV cabinet, unopened. That’s how convenient streaming services have become--I can’t be bothered to watch a DVD I bought. On the off chance the internet is destroyed by mischievous raccoons or buying physical copies of movies comes back into style à la vinyl records, here’s a guide to creating a quality DVD collection.

GODZILLA VS KONG Movie Review
Awesome fights, with plenty of action! Godzilla Vs Kong did not disappoint, and is one of the better (new) Godzilla/King Kong movies. Admittedly, it still carries a lot of the old criticisms of there being a lot of scenes with sometimes boring characters, who will just sit around talking. Ultimately, this film takes a long while to get started, as we meet new and old (human) characters to this franchise, and catch up with them, learn more about the plot, Godzilla and Kong through sometimes dull exposition dumps. However, by the end of the film, I was routing for most characters to survive.

Army of The Dead is epic!
Zack Snyder is probably having the best year of his film making career. He has had two highly touted releases and one was four years in the making. There were plenty of people that wanted to see what this man could do with more creative liberties and freedoms from a studio like Netflix. If you want a fully immersive world Snyder loves to dabble with smaller stories in a larger picture and Army of the Dead is no different.

5 Reasons Zack Snyder’s ARMY OF THE DEAD Makes Las Vegas A Better Place
Released on May 21st, 2021, ARMY OF THE DEAD is a compelling documentary about the leeches that live in Vegas — sorry, hang on, it’s not a documentary? Darn. I guess some things really are too good to be true...

Movie Review: 'Blast' Beat Starring Mateo and Moises Arias
Blast Beat doesn’t know what kind of movie it wants to be. Is this a drama about immigration? A drama about family strife? A coming of age story? A story about two brothers on opposite ends of the Goofus and Gallant scale? In the end, Blast Beat is running in so many different directions it fails to gain ground in any one of those directions. The drama is inert, blunted by a lack of focus while reaching for emotions that it fails to earn.

A New Age: The Snyderverse
Let me begin this article by saying this not a spoiler. I am not going to break down the specific scenes from the movie that were epic, but I might reference a few. There will be some comparison to the first cut of the film because I think it is worth noting where Snyder's cut smashed the first film into oblivion. My goal is to show that this cut of the film has set a new standard for the true fans that want to see what we saw on Saturday mornings as children portrayed to the same level of excitement.
