Movie Review: 'Drunk Bus' is More Charming than the Title Implies
Drunk Bus stars Ozark star Charlie Tahan as Michael, an affable bus driver on a college campus, pining for the girl who got away and stuck in a loop, so to speak. Michael’s days are always the same, he wakes up in the afternoon, eats cereal while his gross roommate plays video games and lives on their shared couch, and then he goes to work for the College Transit system where he drives the late night loop, which is essentially, the drunk bus.

Without Remorse: A Review
It is easy to sit on the sidelines and criticize those who are out there hustling, creating, or playing. We all know that un-athletic fan who swears they could throw a better pass than Tom Brady or keep their cool better than Lebron James. Screenwriting and producing TV shows and movies may not be the same, but it’s still horribly easy to criticize without offering anything of value. So, in this decidedly negative review of Without Remorse, I will try to add value.

Reviewing Spiral, The Newest Installment Into The Saw Franchise, Starring Chris Rock and Samuel Jackson.
Originally titled Spiral: From the Book of Saw Chris Rocks' passion piece story that carries on the legacy of the Saw series finally arrived in theaters on May 14th, 2021. After being stuck in the Covid-19 purgatory of delayed-release dates a reputable horror franchise was finally back in theaters. Admittedly, I'm a big fan of the series originals that starred Tobin Bell as the titular bad guy, the psychopathic Jigsaw. The Jigsaw characters' psychopathy was different, new, and intriguing compared to the same old rehashed formulized slashers. In addition, the creative ways he would come up with for murdering, sometimes eviscerating his targets, made the series fun and oftentimes, cringeworthy.

Movie Review: 'The Dry' is Potent Arid Mystery
The Dry stars Eric Bana as Aaron Falk, a Federal agent who returns to his small town in Australia following the death of his best friend Luke. The trip home is deeply fraught as in death, Luke is accused of committing murder-sucide. Luke’s wife and young son were murdered on their farm while Luke’s vehicle and body were found miles away in a popular hunting area. Luke’s parents don’t believe the narrative but they have no way of proving what happened.

How I Became Interested in Movies
Chris Stuckmann’s Norm of the North review seems like an inconsequential YouTube clip. A video of a 27-year-old man talking about a supposedly terrible animated movie shouldn’t be that special. However, when that video was recommended to me in early 2016, I watched it and became hooked on Stuckmann’s channel. I was impressed by the way he criticized films and wished that I could look at films the same way he did. How could a kid who had just turned fourteen possibly look at filmmaking with the same depth and wisdom as someone who reviews movies on YouTube as a job? After a while, however, I realized I was subconsciously picking up on the elements of movies Stuckmann would talk about: the acting, cinematography, direction, writing, editing, special effects, music, and storytelling, among others. I started reviewing movies on my own with monologues to myself about my thoughts on whatever film I had just watched. Since then, I have connected with a group of friends who also love the art of filmmaking, including another Chris Stuckmann fan. I started discussing and watching films with them, along with acting in short films they made. I still appreciate how cool it is that I've actually found people who love films as much as me. I now write full-fledged movie reviews on Letterboxd and even official articles for Stardust.

Why Movies Engage Me
A topic that always engages me without fail is movies. I love talking about movies; what works in movies, what doesn’t work, my favorites, my least favorites, or just my experience watching them. To me, movies aren’t just a form of entertainment, they’re also a form of art, a form of storytelling, a form of communication. Their messages can ripple across an entire population and change the way that we think about the world around us. They can bring us into an incredibly beautiful world that can take our minds off of how terrifying real life can sometimes be or they can bring new awareness to an aspect of reality that their audiences never even thought about before. Movies are a form of expression, and the best ones can be impactful to everyone on many different levels.

Return to Me
Springtime is easily my favorite season. With an exception for the unbearable allergies, it is filled with beautiful colors, early and late sunlight, and most importantly a craving for romantic movies. For this reason I knew I had to write a post about love before Spring concluded.
