Leaders of the Pack
Summer is almost over but we're still in the midst of honoring some of the greatest women alive. This trio has lifted their respective programs while pushing themselves to the first place spot on the awards podium on multiple occasions. While the world has had its share of dark moments this year we'd be slipping if we didn't congratulate Kamala Harris for being selected as a candidate for the vice presidency of the United States.
Without further delay, enjoy our latest release of "Hot Summer Bods in Women's Sports & Fitness."
Taliyah Townsend
Featured in our first installment, the North Carolina A&T alum, MEAC champ and current Howard University Pharmacy student, Taliyah Townsend is making us say wow this summer. Her swimsuit photos are stunning.
While we probably won't see the Louisville native on the course any more for track and field, it's great to know that she will be leading the way in medicine, helping to help heal the world during these challenging times.
Chanel Brissett
This NCAA champion hurdler has just switched uniforms from USC to Texas. While at USC, Brissett was tearing things up on the track. She won the 2019 100-meter hurdles Pac-12 championship before participating on the 400-meter relay squad that won the conference title too.
On the indoor side of things she won the NCAA title in the 60-meter hurdles in 2019. During the outdoor season she was second in the nation and was on the NCAA winning 400-meter relay team. Brissett will take her skills and medals to Texas to see if she can add more gold around her neck.
Erica Graham
During her days at St. John's Erica Graham was a long jump champion. She took her first title in 2016 as a sophomore at the Big East Championships.
Graham captured her second and final Big East crown during her senior season. Now a pro, she's earned wins in the Lions Invitational Ewing, Tom Farrell Classic and Armory Last Chance meets over the past two seasons.

My New Book is Finally Here
My poetry collection Beautiful and Brutal Things is done. It's actually done and finally published over 270 pages. Over a year of my life went into this book. More than a year, really. Long days at my computer, sometimes seven days a week because I couldn't stop even when I probably should have. Then two months of editing that felt harder than the writing itself. But it's finished, and I'm still standing, and the book is real.
