Café Etiquette
This was inspired by one of my own comments: Take a look at these brain droppings once again, and please note that I have commented on many small details about life that we often ignore. Here, I wrote about how the best cafés serve coffee not worth their particular atmospheres, and many of you were amused by this thought. And I may one day continue with these lines (so much to contain in notebooks).

Shivaratri: A Night of Devotion to Lord Shiva Across the vibrant tapestry of India, where traditions weave seamlessly into everyday life, the festival of Shivaratri stands out as a profound celebration of spirituality and devotion. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities in Hinduism, Shivaratriâoften referred to as Maha Shivaratri when it falls in late winter or early springâdraws millions of devotees into a night of fasting, prayer, and reverence. Observed with fervor in temples, homes, and sacred sites, this festival encapsulates the essence of Shivaâs divine presence as the destroyer of evil, the meditative yogi, and the cosmic force of transformation.

Rose Pastries
What do you do for flowers on romantic occasions when your Beloved has a pollen allergy? Make edible roses, of course! Not everyone appreciates getting flowers for Valentines day, for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's allergies, sometimes it's principles, sometimes it's as simple as having a black thumb and not wanting to take care of the blooms until they die.

Mom's Broccoli Casserole. Honorable Mention in A Taste of Home Challenge.
The Story Growing up in the American South in the 90s meant being surrounded by delicious food. Every gathering from birthdays to funerals, winter holidays to summer barbecues, picnics to potlucks, were a banquet fit for royalty. There were savory meats, fluffy biscuits, rich side dishes, and decadent desserts. These gatherings had a set of unwritten rules that every Southerner knew. Every family in attendance was expected to contribute at least one dish. Every dish had to be homemade (bringing anything store-bought said you were a bad cook!), and every woman had her own specialty dish that she brought to every gathering.

My Love-Hate Cake. Runner-Up in A Taste of Home Challenge.
I love eating this cake, and I hate that it makes me cry. Why does it do that? Because... At the age of five, I was prohibited from eating it. For a brief moment, my Mum believed it was making me fat, and from that moment on, my relationship with this ubiquitously British, traditional children's sweet-treat cake, made famous by a Queen, was to become achingly bittersweet.

Mom's Strawberry Love
My mother was a smart and loving mother who can handle anything coming at her. Loosing her own mother at 10 to TB, she had to be a mother of two younger sister and brother until her father married again. Because they were so young, they do not remember their biological mother at all. Before she passed away, she was at the hospital for a year. Her children were not allowed to visit her due to the highly contagious nature of the illness, tuberculosis.
