Some Netflix Korean Madness
Introduction
I tried to search "Squid Game" on Vocal because I am sure there must be lots of critiques and stories, but when I entered the word "Squid" in the search it crashed every time.
Maybe this is just a system glitch or maybe Vocal can't deal with the word,
The other thing is I don't want to give anything away, no spoilers, but that makes it difficult to tell you about it without telling you anything about it except that it is on Netflix and of course, there is a Wikipedia page.
I included "Pachuco Cadaver" by Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band from "Trout Mask Replica" because I think the album cover fits with this piece and the introduction to the song is sort of appropriate:
When a song starts with
'A Squid eating dough in a polyethylene bag is fast and bulbous'
you know you're in for a wild ride!
Squid Game - My Thoughts
The first time I tried this I gave up. It starts with children and a description of the rules of "Squid Game". On my second try I made it through the first episode, and, shall we say, the introduction was almost a McGuffin. However, the finale of series one reintroduces the game.
Although I am not at the end of series two yet, I have discovered what the game is about and I am glad that I gave it a second chance.
This is not a series for the faint-hearted, there are a lot of violent events, and some graphic images which may disturb viewers.
I like some of the iconography, and I wonder what Sony's opinion of the PlayStation Button masks are. The moderators of the game do look impressive in their red suits.
I was watching this on my Kindle Fire 10 but after the latest upgrade, Netflix stopped working so I thought I would have to just watch it on TV rather than when I am working or on a bus.
I have installed it on my phone and it is watchable there so, I will finish series one today and start with series two.
The series has a lot of classical and easily listening music for its set-piece scenes, so that may educate the watcher with music they have not heard.
The series incorporates elements of "Battle Royale", "Lord of the Flies" and "My Little Eye".
Conclusion
I don't think I have given too much away. This is definitely a series worth persevering with.

I'm so glad you gave it a second chance. I only watched season 1 a year after it came out. I watched season 2 a few days back and finished all 7 episodes in a day π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£
If you end up enjoying the series you should also watch Alice in Borderland on Netflix.
Good review of this series, but I am really not into anime and shows like that. Good job though and happy viewing.
We have just completed watching season 2 and as well I will not give anything away. Except to say "yes" they have already finished filming the third and final season. I am a fan of the series.
I've watched all that they have out. Let's just say you're in for a wild ride. It's well worth watching, in my book.
