Can you change your fate?
I guess it all depends on which angle you are looking at this, an argument can be made about how our actions led us down a certain path and eventually to a specific place and another can be made about how our environment is responsible for all the things we did. Either ways I think it all comes down to the same thing at the end of the day.

What if You’re the Reason Nothing is changing?
Fortunately or unfortunately, we as individuals always feel responsible for our success or failure. Society tends to push such an individualistic mindset where we have to believe that everything depends on us 100% even when we know this not to be the case. Certainly this helps in terms of accountability but also comes with the downside of us always relying on ourselves even when that is counterproductive. There are instances where relying just on your own strength and wisdom isn’t enough, you need others to chyme in else you have no winning chance. Yet even when we recognize this, we still find ourselves doing everything.

If You Met Yourself, Would You Like Yourself?
An important thing you should know is the power of perspective, there is a way you see yourself which is completely different from the way others see you. Whether it's your way of communicating, your actions, tone and demeanor, they all play a role in what others think of you.

Your Future Self is Watching
When sitting in a quiet setting like at home when the lights go off, or in an office where I have to wait for a long while, or simply on a long trip when the noise settles in the bus. I often reflect on how I got this far. The decisions which led me here, the fortunate and unfortunate events which shaped this moment, and how all this could have been different if certain things didn’t happen. I also imagine how different my life would have been if I had made some other choices. For better or worse, I’ll never really know how things could have turned out. All I can do is assume they turned out for the best.

The Art of Letting Go
People view walking away from a problem as being cowardly, you didn’t have the courage to face the difficulty so you decided to runaway. Walking away isn’t the same as running away unfortunately it often gets substituted for it. When a person decides to walk away from a battle, he or she is seen as being weak, a loser who chose not to fight and instantly people lose respect for such a person but you have to understand that walking away isn’t the same as running away.

Snaked by my own kind. Top Story - October 2025.
The value of loyalty can not be overemphasized, it is one of those things we all enjoy and which brings us great comfort. Whether it's our parents and how loyal they are to us, or our friends and the commitment they have for us. I don’t know about others, but it's something I value a lot in all the friendships I have because I understand just how important and valuable it is in society. It is also one of those pleasurable gifts we can get from anybody, and de-facto we expect it from everybody we get to interact with.

Getting disrespected lately
I don’t get disrespected a lot because I’m fortunate to be in a position where I don’t need to interact with a lot of people and I really don’t care about interacting with a lot of people. Its clear that the more you interact with people, the higher the chances of you being disrespected and so that’s why I don’t get that much of it in my life. Recently I got to work on a project with a young friend of mine and ended up facing alot (not that much) disrespect from him but I just chose to ignore it. I’ve already written a piece about disrespect and how to avoid it so I won’t go back to that but here I’ll just bring back some important points on how to avoid getting disrespected.

Every country gets the leaders it deserves
In the same way we are all a product of our environment, leaders are a direct reflection of the society that produces them. Even though this title might seem harsh, it is painfully true. Bad leaders do not sprout out of thin air, they are enabled, tolerated, promoted and sometimes celebrated by the very people who suffer under them. Let's talk about why this happens, how do bad leaders emerge in different societies and rise to power.
