Delicious Dishes From the UK
England Eggs Eggy bread is the British version of French toast. This dish is also referred to as Poor Knights of Windsor. It is prepared with crustless sandwich bread, milk, icing, sugar, eggs, butter, cinnamon and usually a bit of sherry and strawberry jam. The bread gets soaked in a mixture of milk, eggs, icing sugar, and sherry then pan-fried until browned on both sides. When done the bread is sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and topped with strawberry jam or blackberry compote.

Bat Out Of Hell
The title refers to his very successful album and song by the same title. He was larger than life and full of dynamic energy. American singer and actor Meat Loaf could belt out a song in a rough, tough, voice and then switch to a slower ballad and wring out the emotions in you. Sadly on January 20, 2022, Meat Loaf passed away and joined the rock and roll band in the sky at the age of 74. As much as he will be missed his music and the movies in which he played make him immortal and we can still enjoy his dynamic presence on videos.

Traveling Off the Beaten Path
The Isle of Man Sometimes after you have been traveling and seen all the usual landmarks and big cities it can be nice to go somewhere beautiful just to get away from the crowds and see some unusual things. You just might enjoy traveling to the Isle of Man which is situated between the coastlines of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales right in the middle of the Irish Sea.

The Taste of Indonesia
Soup Tahu campur is a dish that originated in East Java. The soup is made with beef broth, fried tofu, green salad, bean sprouts, egg noodles, sambal petis (bird’s eye chili peppers and dried shrimp paste), spiced fried cassava, garlic crackers, and a paste made with spices like garlic, coriander, cumin, turmeric, and black pepper. When served the soup is garnished with fried garlic, fried shallots, and garlic crackers. It is often sold by street cart vendors in East Java.

Bearer Of Bad News
September had arrived, and soon the autumn would begin officially, Thies was their second year in their new house, and they had terrific neighbors across the road who had become friends. Julie stood at the living room window, looking out with pleasure at the golden autumn afternoon and the swirling colorful leaves. She remembered how she and her husband Mike had wanted to find a house where their children, 5-year-old Dani and her brother 8-year-old Billy could run freely and enjoy their childhood. They had been living in an apartment in the town of Springfield, and it was sometimes a hassle to pick up the children at the school bus stop and then since they wanted to have some playtime take them to the local park, Many times this made dinner late. Mike worked at the regional Fed Ex office and always came home tired after making many deliveries. A bit over an hour's drive was the bigger town of Waverly, so there seemed to be no solution to their dilemma; there were no houses for sale in their town with a garden which would have been one solution. Then one Saturday, while the kids were at their grandparents, she and Mike went for a drive. They noticed a road leading off the main roadway connecting Springfield with Waverly and looked for a place to turn their car around.

Bright Feathers
Asia Helmeted Hornbills are birds that stand out from the rest with their elongated yellow beaks, wrinkly throat patches, and a massive casque on the top of their heads that make them look like they are wearing helmets. These birds make their homes in the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo, Thailand and Myanmar. Their diet includes strangler figs. Unfortunately, these birds are victims of hunting due to poachers killing them for their casques to make jewelry and ornaments.

Fleetwood Mac got together in 1967 in London, England. They became a very popular British-American rock group. Due to the fact that the band changed members so many different times the only original remaining band member is Mick Fleetwood. The group’s biggest success was achieved from 1971 to 1974. Select members of Fleetwood Mac were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Overall this group sold over 100 million albums all around the globe.

Sailing on Beautiful Lakes
An hour north of Anchorage, Alaska you can find the beautiful Lake Eklutna with over fifteen miles of shoreline. This lake is one of the clearest lakes in the US located right next to the Eklutna Glacier. This lake is a great place for salmon and trout fishing. You can enjoy picnicking by the lake and even stay overnight at a campground. If you like you can go boating on the lake and from the boathouse you can rent kayaks. If you like biking there is a trail running parallel to the lake.

Promises to Myself
I have a very long Favorties list on YouTube with many different songs. I am a passionate oldies fan but also like music from all kinds of genres. I am an American Latvian since both my parents came from Latvia. My mother taught me to enjoy both popular and traditional Latvian music. So my list includes songs in Latvian. I will listen to my favourite music more to brighten my mood, remember beautiful things that happened in the past, get me through my day quickly, and even train my brain. This mix calms me, soothes me and makes whatever I do during the day more straightforward to achieve. So in the new year, I shall have my music playing more often.
