Rachel Reviews: Dreams from Communism: Satire from the Past, Lessons for the Present by Ian Christoff
I really enjoyed Ian Christoff's book. It gave me an insight into a world that I knew existed but of which I had limited knowledge, and Christoff's series of short tales has gone some way to extending my awareness of the lives of comrades in Bulgaria. It was certainly an entertaining way to learn about what could be seen as a dark episode in that country's history and its emergence from it.

Rachel Reviews: To End the Night - Julius Caesar's Secret War by Lluew Grey
So. First thing to know is that I love Roman history. There is something that keeps drawing me back to that particular period with its imperial madness and gladiators and innovation and war-mongering. Second thing to know is I love vampires. Probably not as much as I love Romans but still, they have a strangely alluring attraction for me.

Rachel Reviews: Everyday is Like Sunday by John Doe
The fact that Hitler's Nazi Germany looted the art collections of those they subdued is no new tale: to the "winners", the spoils and all that. This story takes that idea and tells of a girl, Lily Braun, her need for revenge and her orchestrating the means to obtain that vengeance through the heist of a piece of art, stolen from her family in circumstances most violent.

Rachel Reviews: The Eye Opener: Collection of Short Stories II by Indrajit Garai
I mostly really enjoy Indrajit Garai's books and I am a sucker for a short story. In this collection, there are three stories: The Alignment, The Changing Turf and The Eye Opener.
