Exploring
Drabble which is sort of for Gabriel Huizenga's "Beginning-Endings" Unofficial Writing Challenge although I'm not certain it's met the brief

All Archie wanted was to be an explorer.
Space held infinite discoveries in the black star-speckled miles stretching before him.
Archie wasn't the only one exploring, looking for new matter, the universe's hidden gems.
Pinned, like a specimen in a museum, he was terrified when a voice spoke in his head.
"You are an explorer too?"
Archie wanted to nod but his head was braced.
He watched as something mechanical descended.
"Let's explore together."
Archie felt confused. Become part of an alien team?
The shared exploration was not outside of the ship. But Archie was very much part of it.

Oh dear… poor Archie! Well done!
Oh, I think it meets the brief quite well! Definitely felt like it could be a sad ending or a horrific beginning!
Pinned like a specimen in a museum. I feel apprehensive for Archie. This was great.
Space..., the final frontier..., all that exists..., between Archie's ears. At least he gets to be part of it, lol. Ouch! What was that for?
Well, that was unexpected... 😅
Their intentions were always in doubt. And so scary too. A lot to ponder here!
As terrifying as it would be, getting spoken to telepathically would be so cool. Great drabble!
Aliens have been probing us for so long. Why have we not met them already...so strange. I must explore drabbles more 🤣
This is AWESOME. The mystery of the alien being's nature- whether it is nefarious, or just a fellow explorer - makes for a great opening, and could just as well be a compelling ending to the tale. I think Sci-Fi is one of the genres most fitting for beginning-endings; I think of Interstellar and Arrival as two which incorporate the concept brilliantly. (I highly recommend both movies if you haven't seen them!) Thank you so much for joining the challenge with this brilliant entry!!
A well-wrought alien abduction drabble!
He heard the voice in his head? I don't get the ending. I'm so sorry for being slow 😅😅
