Pour me a cup of storm

And I will stir what's there

Until it steams its way

Into a transforming elixir;

A tonic plucked from plush green

And desiccated gently just for me.

Until steaming mists meet it dried again

And hotly decanted, with their cloak

Of heated veils, they dance

And swirl it back into life.

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! I'm an every day thrice a day tea drinker and this poem is just sublime! Going to make myself some now! Thank you for the encouragement!

  • Nothing like a hot cup of tea to transport us to some place magical.

  • Gotta say I was disappointed because your title is very misleading. I thought you were gonna give me some juicy gossip 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 But your poem did not disappoint. I loved it!

    Wow, Rachel... I was sold from "cup of storm"!! The way you painted this picture of a simple cup of tea is definitely not simple, it's exquisite!!

    Nicely done, Rachel. You totally sold me on this one. I'll take two cups, please.

    Dear Rd - Rita Louise, my Irish-English Wife, would make such a fuss with the traditional cozy and tea pot turned in just the correct direction/with the spoon dripping in the milk so slowly that I just grabbed a cup of coffee to go. Thanks for the lovely memory..! Jk - In fast coffee drinkers @ enormous expense in.l.a.

  • Save a cup for me! Brilliant.
