Help Wanted: AI Vigilante Task Force. Top Story - February 2025.
I was on the fence about whether I should write this piece or not. But I decided to do it. I don't want it to be an angry tirade and I am aiming to keep my emotions in check, but it would be dishonest to say I’m not upset.

Little Red Running Shoes. Runner-Up in Legends Rewritten Challenge.
“Yes, I’m on my way, Nana…No, I’m going to jog over…Well no, I haven’t left yet, but I’m about to…I know I said I was on my way, it’s just an expression…Yes, I can still pick up the ingredients at the corner market by your house…Okay, Nana, see you soon.”

Divided We Fall. Honorable Mention in The Moment That Changed Everything Challenge.
Andy glanced down at the seemingly sporadic design of filled in ovals on his ballot sheet. The darkened points were few. The races he hadn’t cast a vote for were many. Some were left blank because he didn’t know anything about the candidates, there were so many people running for various positions and never enough time to research them all. And then there were others he’d recused himself from because after choosing a lesser evil for several years he was sick of choosing evil at all. It would be much easier of course if he could fill in one of those little bubbles at the top that said “Vote Along Party Lines”, but he couldn’t foresee that happening in any future near or far.

My Winter Wonderland. Top Story - January 2025.
I love snow. I've come to learn that it's not a popular opinion among adults in my part of the world. And I do understand why. It causes a lot of problems: slick roads, downed power lines, roof damages. It also slows everything down. But I think I rather appreciate that part. I also think it's beautiful. I'm of the mindset that if it's going to be freezing outside it might as well look pretty.

Looking Back and Moving Forward
As a teacher I get to enjoy the wonderful luxury of two weeks off from work over Christmas and New Year's. And 2025 in Louisville, Kentucky kicked off with quite a winter storm, so this year two weeks became three. After all the incredible time spent with family, by the time New Year's Day arrived I was ready for some time to read, write, rest, and clean. (I was less excited about that last task, but it was very needed.) The additional week off has provided the time I needed to reset and recharge.
