You drove the two and a half hours,
Booked a hotel room,
Just to sit in a hot gym
On hard bleacher seats
And watch me warm the bench,
Because you loved me.
I found strength to never quit
Because I had you,
A fan that never quit on me.

So sweet! A supportive parent is an incredible gift.
A wonderful poem about your Mum’s love…regardless of whether you played or sat on the bench. Excellent ✅.
What a love demonstration! Love does the heavy lifting and the hard things too. A big "YES" to this poem's message!
That's what moms do!!! Wonderful love poem and tribute to your mom!!! Love this!!!
This bought tears to my eyes, my wife told me a story about our deceased son, -my step son, he once gave a speech and he dedicated to his mother and in it he said, to the Mom who never gave up on me. This was so perfect DK - so perfect indeed!!
Awww, she's so sweet! We all deserve someone like that in our lives. Loved your poem!
A sweet tribute to a mother’s love in action
There is nothing quite like a mother’s love! Wonderful love poem and challenge entry, DK!
Such a heartfelt tribute to a dedicated mom! Great job, D.K.!
Such warms thoughts. 🥰 I love the feeling of team spirit you brought to this lovely poem.
Yep. I've been that fan. I've felt those bleachers. Just has to be done.
Oh, I like this one. That's true motherly love. Beautiful piece.
Your mum sounds like a good 'un. I thought this was really lovely D.K. - especially the last line. Always good to have someone in your corner.
This was such a sweet love poem. That kind of love is so selfless!
Oh shit, I make no apologies for swearing because this kinda hit harder than I thought it might. I think it was the line about "warming the bench". Just, written so cleverly, sucks us in and then that hard truth revealed. Your mum sounds awesome and I'm sure she'd be proud of this tribute! Well done on another wonderful entry, DK!
well this warmed my heart
A lovely tribute! As a mom I enjoyed this very much (I hope one day my son appreciates the hours I spent attending larps for him 🤣)
