They say that you’ve truly learned a language
On the day you begin to dream in it.
When I went to sleep with a broken heart,
I woke up with words spilling out in verse.
Does this mean I’m finally a poet,
Now that I’ve dreamt in fluent poetry?
Author’s Note: A 50 word practice poem that’s one word short. I was inspired to write this one after writing the recent poem linked below:

Brilliant! Well done!
Yes, I agree, you are definitely a poet. Beautiful job - Well Done!
Oh, I love this concept, DK! You are definietly a poet :) Beautifully executed!
Well-wrought! I think of all the lines about "bleeding hearts and artists" from Pink Floyd's "The Wall", usually a reproach uttered by those characters in the story who would stifle creativity. Keep dreaming in poetry! The broken heart mends because it bleeds for joy and for sorrow, I think, because it imagines an existence better than the one which broke it, and perhaps even brings it to be.
Gorgeous poem… fluently dreaming in poetry!🤔😊… you’re definitely a Poet!💖 Surely you can squeeze in one more little word & enter & win the challenge 👍🏼.
This is simply brilliant; a painfully clever turn of phrase/concept, so perfectly expressed- on an aching subject. A poet you are, D.K.! And a truly marvelous one at that.
Yeah definitely a poet - and a brilliant one at that.
Whoaaaa, that was so freaking deep! I loved it!
I would absolutely say yes. You are a poet.
This clever, lovely and sad (in a good way)! Loved your poem, DK!
Such a clever and relatable poem, D.K.! Writing a poem in 50 words is definitely tough!
Oh, but this is so lovely. You’ve really outdone yourself with this creative weave of words
