When Vocal Get It Right
Vocal Is My Writing Platform Of Preference

Introduction
When I started on Vocal I used to use YouTube videos for the main image. Some friends advised against it but I do like to include music as Vocal does allow multimedia presentations. Also as a Vocal+ member, I have the benefit of QuickEdit and this allows changes to the main body of your Vocal Story but not the title, subheading or the main image.
In order to change any of those three things you have to request Vocal to move your story into drafts. That can be done with a simple email with the link of your story to [email protected].
How Did Vocal Get This So Right?
Sometimes I make spelling mistakes in the heading or subheading. The subheading is fine but the Title can cause problems. This is because the title is used to create the URL of the story and if you change the title, even to correct a spelling or grammar issue then the URL changes and all the previous links that you shared will no longer work so you need to go back and change them if you can remember where you dropped them.
However, this is about the brilliant job that Eliza did for me in Vocal Support.
This is the conversation we had and following that will be be the tale of what happened.

If you use a YouTube video as your main image they often get pulled from YouTube for one reason or another leaving your story with an awful blank main image. I know some creators are not too bothered about their past work but I am, all 2,400 of them.
So my poem "Love Is Strange" had the video removed so I asked for it to be moved to drafts, and it was.
So I thought new image, and include another copy of the video and republish it. But when I tried the link from Drafts it just said page not found, it had the same link as the original published page so that is a fault in the system that needs rectifying.
Eliza the Vocal support person, tried to resubmit it to Drafts to no avail. I told her I still could not access it.
Often at this stage Support says they will submit it to someone else and it disappears.
I had a Google Docs backup of the story so I republished it from that and was not expecting to hear anything, but did not delete the original.
Eliza. did not give up and found and shared a link with me and I could access the story.
So I repurposed it with a new story which kept the hearts of the original story.
Conclusion
This is a thank you to Vocal Support, especially Eliza for showing that Vocal does care about its creators.
Thank you Eliza !

It's always good when someone does their job well
Sounds like a job well done.
We ❤️ Eliza
Eliza helped me with plageurism anxiety also. I so hope she knows that she is appreciated. I felt the interaction with a human being was genuine. Glad you got your issue sorted.
"Welcome back to the fold, Mike" – John Vocal To tack onto your point about the article title making up part of the URL, the Community also makes up part of it, so if you ever swap it for a challenge or another reason, any links beyond what Vocal directly controls will break. Same goes for your profile name and the URL for your product page.
I think this is a broader problem at Vocal. Older stories can't be recovered back to Drafts, even if they're published and readable on the site. I've had this issue with three stories so far. I don't know what the cut-off is, like how old a story can be before it becomes unrecoverable. So credit to Support for trying, but not to Vocal's backend which leaves something to be desired... The moral of the story: backup your work!
Thanks for the information and Eliza is great. Keep up the good work.
Eliza is wonderful, and I do really appreciate Vocal overall. I've had the most success on this platform out of all of the ones I've tried and found the vibe and community to be the most supportive.
Very informative story. I should read some more. You have a lot.
Vocal needs more people like Eliza. I second what DJ said below. Let's start a petition for Eliza to get a raise!
I recently posted a story with an image captioned incorrectly (An AI Generated Story instead of an AI Generated Image) and I panicked when an astute reader--the eagle-eyed Shaun Walters) brought the blunder to my attention. After all, I think posting AI generated stories is an abdication of the writer's most sacred responsibility! I sent a note to Vocal Support, and Eliza--I suspect the very same person who aided you so ably--sorted it out in seconds. I think Eliza deserves a raise!
