My Mistakes
On Facebook And Vocal And Elsewhere

Introduction
Although this should maybe be a Journal, 01, or FYI piece but it is about two places where we often make mistakes, and people often then add another comment to point out their errors and correct them, but there is no need to point out that you have made an error. So I don't have much to write about so I am going to post this in Writers (although I suppose I could have put it in Critique, Fiction or Poets as they allow stories with less than six hundred words.
This is How

On Vocal we will leave a comment, and usually I make a spelling mistake or realise I have not said exactly what I want, so I select the three dots against the comment, copy any text I want to reuse, and then delete the comment and post a new one.
Note if you delete a comment that has a reply, I think the reply stays.

On Facebook, it is slightly different, because you have the option of editing your comment, so you can make the correction and no one is any wiser. This, in theory, could be abused, for instance, you could post something saying "Isn't Such A thing Wonderful", and someone could reply saying "I Totally Agree With You" and then you could go back and edit your post to say "Isn't Such A thing Awful" and the original comment would still say "I Totally Agree With You".
This may be why Vocal does not allow editing of comments, which I am fine with although a lot of Creators want to be able to edit comments.
Conclusion
As you can see, this is not much information, but I do think it will be useful for some creators who are unaware of these options. Often people then say "Oh I am such a whatever" but if no one tells you or shows you then how are you supposed to become aware?
This is just me showing and telling.
Thank you so much for reading.

Yes, I have used this on occasion. Thanks for lifting it up, Mike.
Maybe Vocal can do like WhatsApp, where we can edit what we said within the first 15 minutes. That way, that feature wouldn't be abused.
Pretty sure you can see edits on FB if you want to. At least you could in the past by clicking on edited
You can see edits of comments on FB, I think 🤔
I am usually reading off my iPhone, and therefore dictate my comments, sometimes the iPhone spells things differently. I always try to make sure I take the time to read what I just dictated so it doesn’t come out wrong or weird. Always good that they have an edit button OK so we need to correct or grammar or misspells.
If I have learned one thing it is that I am always inhibited by my anxiety. I enjoy every like I get and feel exhilarated by the occasional good comment. However, I find I have the chance to get emotional by something I read, and how I hate it if I write a comment I sincerely mean and there is a mistake when I read it back and no edit button,
