Are you in the right job?
In a perfect world, people would be hired because they are the best at the job they are applying for. In a perfect world, that best hired person for the job would take pride in his talent and work and provide the best product and/or service as he was hired to do. That's in a "perfect" world - but we don't live in a "perfect" world, do we? What I've seen happen more often is the wrong person in a job. The wrong person doesn't do the job right. The wrong person doesn't "love" the job or the product or the service. The wrong person has no pride in the job and the wrong person often makes the customers of the product or service unsatisfied. How did the wrong person get that job? Why is the wrong person still doing that job?

Lockdown
I can give you the date: March 11, 2020. Everything that led up to this moment and the fallout afterward may fall from the world’s memory over time, but I kept a running timeline from pre-2020 to January 2021. I know that one day my grandchildren will ask if any of “that stuff” actually happened so I collected article headlines, news photos, and the abundance of memes that one day won’t make sense out of context.

NOITULOVE. Content Warning.
Introduction I wasn't so sure about doing this one, and I doubt this will even be considered for the challenge as it is not SWAMP material although it will touch on that, though ironically the video does include a swamp, but I still think it is worth sharing. It will contain lots of pivotal moments and may probably lose me some subscribers but if it makes one person think or give one person inspiration then it will be worth doing.

With a Whimper. Content Warning.
Author's Note: I am not a political scientist, the below statements are my opinion only. I have been relatively quiet for the last few years. Things in my personal life have been turbulent, but I am now at a place where silence is no longer an option. Before the election, I knew it was a lost cause. With the systemic defunding of education, the American public lacks the critical thinking skills to act in their best interest. If misogyny lost the first election for Clinton, then racism and misogyny lost this one for Harris. When this same thing happened in 2016, I wrote a lot. I wrote about what this meant for the country, and what kind of portent this painted for our future. I got called a lot of things, but most prominently I was called a fear-monger, an extremist, and a feminist killjoy. Looking back at those articles, I was correct about nearly everything I said. I said, that with his winning, we would see the decline of respected science, leading to a largely preventable epidemic. I said that we would see non-white children in cages, separated from their families. I said that we would see a rise in gun violence in public places. I said we would see an attempted coup to retain power. I said a lot of other things, but I think those are the big points. In 2016, at the start of it all, no one ever thought any of those things would happen. And yet here we are.

How January 6 Shook My Faith in America
January 6, 2021, is etched in my memory as a day that fundamentally changed my faith in democracy in the United States. For over six decades, I believed that despite the intensity of political campaigns or occasional controversy over election results, the peaceful transition of power—a hallmark of our democracy—was an unshakable certainty. That belief was shattered on this fateful day.

MICROSOFT DESIGNER APP This is not all about me. I author these stories about abuse or other genres to help others see the dilemma of being involved with people. This story and many other stories are authored by me to inform people about these psychological issues of relationships. There are times I use "I" because the story was written from a first-person perspective. "I" does not always mean that it's about me. I am 75 years old. I authored articles that were found that I wrote at 16 and 17. So, IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT ME! FYI! Enjoy all! LOVE, PEACE, UNDERSTANDING.

The Tempting Apple Tree
The Tempting Apple Tree In the heart of the beautiful Garden of Eden, there stood a grand apple tree. Its bright red apples shined like little suns in the warm light, enchanting everyone who passed by. Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, loved exploring this magical garden, filled with colorful flowers and gentle creatures. Life was simple and joyful, yet a curiosity lingered within them—a wish to learn more.

Say His Name: George Floyd
During the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone was in quarantine, daily life was interrupted, and everyone was staying safe from the deadly virus. However, one event that received national attention was the death of George Floyd. On May 25, 2020, the then 46-year-old was suspected of using fake money and was stopped by police and then, they held him to the ground. What happened next was shocking. Now former Minneapolis police officer and convicted murderer, Derek Chauvin, was seen on video pressing his knee on Floyd's neck for more than nine minutes. Despite Floyd’s constant pleas that he couldn't breathe to Chauvin and from bystanders to let him breathe, Chauvin ignored their pleas and the other officers at the scene refused to intervene. Floyd’s death sparked worldwide outrage and protests from around the world. One of the things that continues to irk me is when anytime a black person has been killed by the police, most people would say the following: “If he/she would’ve followed the officer’s orders, then they wouldn’t have been shot.” This is such a tone deaf way of saying that a black person who lost their life deserved it. To me, it's a form of victim blaming. Even if they obeyed a police officer's orders, no one deserves to have their lives taken in a tragic manner. Also, opponents of racial injustice protests would also describe black people as thugs, drug dealers, and everything under the sun. As a person of color, I ask everyone to not paint all black people with one brush. You're missing the entire point of why we still hold Black Lives Matter protests. The point of these protests is to call for accountability of any police officer who takes the life of black individuals. In other words, arresting police officers as opposed to putting them on administrative leave (paid or unpaid) or on bond. Also, seeing them being convicted and sentenced to time in prison, making sure that the families of the slain receive justice.
