Dear Trump, You've Destroyed My Respect For The People That I Love
Am I the only one getting tired of explaining why human rights are more important than the economy? I come from a republican family. I was born and raised Irish catholic. I am the only one of my siblings that is gay, a woman and suffers from mental illness. It’s only me and let me tell you, it’s draining. Have you ever felt like the support given to you by people who just simply don’t understand isn’t enough? Do they belittle you without knowing or twist everything you say to make your feelings feel invalid? Are they defensive when you ask them to educate themselves a little more? Welcome to 2020 folks, the election from hell.

A New Era Begins
Greetings My Friends; Please forgive; sometimes I find myself projecting my opinions on other, this I know is a flaw I must correct. However, this one time, I feel my projecting is justified. I think it is safe to say, this has been one of the wildest weeks ever.

Do we need to know
Do we need to know? Separating politics from celebrity. Have we the right to know every detail of any celebrity or politicians life? What matters about a politician is not the same as what matters about a celebrity. Or is it? In both cases what really matters is how they perform at their chosen career. What matters to a vocalist is how well they sing. What matters to a politician is how well they make decisions. Of course there are now celebrities famous for being famous, apparently making fortunes out of being “in the public awareness” just being a celebrity is almost a profession but even these are treated as if every utterance matters. Why?

All Lives Matter is divisive racism?
“Tyranny is the deliberate removal of nuance.” ― Albert Maysles The framing of the name of the movement, and it’s insistence to speak to every single racist issue that has ever been an issue, from 1776 to 2020, makes it easy to dismiss the issue of police brutality altogether. And so black bodies, white bodies, latino and all other types of bodies continue to pile up, while the political movement claiming to work toward that end, continuously fails to force the people in power to wrestle with the issue. BLM continues to make it easy to deflect it by the obvious favoritism it pays to one marginalized community in the sea of hundreds of marginalized communities, ones that don’t have a twitter hashtag to unite around.

What Happens Now?
We’re still waiting for the final results of the Presidential election as I write this. By the time this is published to Vocal. Media we may very well know who will be the one running the country for the next four years. Much can be said about the brutality of the actual elections, but that’s not going to be what this piece is about. Trust me when I say I have an axe to grind and will share my thoughts about it, but in a productive manner. For this piece though, I want to talk about how we can do our best to move forward after what has been a traumatic saga for many in this country.

The Real Winner of the 2020 Election: Jeremy Boreing
As of this writing, there still is no clear winner in the 2020 US Presidential election between Joe Biden and President Donald Trump. In the time since Wednesday, we've seen several scandals unfold, causing both sides to cry afoul. While one man will eventually become President, they will do so in a way which will be contested in the eyes of their detractors. The process itself has lost credibility in the eyes of both the right and the left, meaning that whatever happens in the White House, our democratic republic clearly is not the winner in this election. It is hopefully a low point in American history which will be fixed for future elections in the courts, but hey, after 2020, not to mention 4 years of vehemently disgusting mainstream media lies, most of us don't have a lot of hope left for happy endings.

Dear Black America...
So here we are...literally in between the rock and a racist place. We just witnessed one of the greatest heavyweight bouts of white supremacy the world has ever seen and it did not disappoint. Donald Trump vs Joe Biden! Red vs. Blue! Bloods and Crips. Same ol shit.

The Last Ditch Effort Of Trump
The outcome of this election really shouldn't come as a shock considering the antics of Trump. What we should be cognizant of is that the Trump Presidency has made the United States sink so low in international standings that it is almost impossible to reverse the damage. Not matter who is inaugurated in January this Administration for the past four years has been able to create the greatest riff in our society. The divisions that have widened because of the utter incompetence of one Donald Trump has only incensed the publics responses. The closeness of the election just shows how deep the divisions have become. We can also state that in no other time in recent history has the United States been faced with an Administration that has dismantled the rule of law and this election is proof once again that Trump will do anything to dispel the results if Biden is declared the winner.

Too Close For Comfort
The night before the election I was not optimistic. I remain in the same cloud of pessimism. After four years of watching that walking talking pile of rotting buboes, incite violence, get endorsed by every white supremacist group in the country, Strip away rights from queer communities, force sterilization on women whose children he ripped away, all while they are sitting assholes to elbows in a cage, and cause the deaths of over 230,000 Americans by downplaying a Virus with a global infection of over 45 million people.
