As Trump sends American flotillas from different directions to Iran, an anonymous Iranian official has said that if America strikes, "This time we will treat any attack (whether it be) limited, unlimited, surgical, kinetic, whatever they call it - as an all-out war and we will respond in the hardest possible way to settle this"!!! The official declined to say what this response would look like. Iran has said it is preparing for any American action and hopes it will not have to confront the US fleet/fleets.

Trump said he is sending the "Armada" (we all know what happened the last time that word was used when Spain sent its Armada against England, not saying the same thing will happen to the US Armada) to help demonstrators on Iran's streets. Deaths, even by the Ayatollah Khamenei's own words, are in the thousands. IRGC forces, police, and other forces slew demonstrators the length and breadth of Iran. The usual riot gear, water cannons, etc, were used to put down these protests. However, according to Iranian sources, when the demonstrations turned violent, live ammo was used. The internet was cut off, so the outside world could not see what was going on. Also, to stop coordinated protests from being planned and staged. The regime seems to have taken back control of the country, but at an extraordinary cost - a cost in innocent lives, demonstrating against Iran's failing standard of living, anger at a theocratic totalitarian regime that seems unable or incapable of relieving its people's woes.

Of course, sanctions on the regime haven't helped. Outside forces like Israel and the US are fanning the flames of dissatisfaction. Mossad is on the ground, by Israel's own admission, pouring petrol on the fire, making ordinary Iranians angrier. Israel and the US want to see the Islamic regime crash and burn. So why wouldn't they poke the hornet's nest?

Trump claims that since he threatened action against the IRI (Islamic Republic of Iran), executions haven't occurred. So is Trump sending his Navy to put a gun to Iran's head to make sure Iran sticks to its word? And if Iran doesn't comply, force will be used? Or is Trump sending these ocean-borne forces to carry out an act as he did with Maduro and Venezuela?

Khamenei has gone to ground in his bunker. So does Trump want to decapitate the regime by taking out the Ayatollah? Even if he does, as with Venezuela, the regime will still be in power. And almost certainly killing or capturing (as with Maduro and unlike Venezuela), this act will invite massive Iranian retaliation as promised by this unknown Iranian official. American bases, Western interests, and Israel will be struck by Iranian missiles and drones. This will lead to the US and Israel retaliating, and we will be in a major war. And once this starts, God only knows where it will end.

Any such conflict will probably drag in other nations in the area, outside forces, blah, blah, blah, the usual scenario. But it may not. Trump has a tendency to pull back once action is taken. When he assassinated General Sulemani, a top Iranian military official in Iraq, Iran responded with missile attacks on US military bases, which caused damage and US personnel injuries. Trump could have struck back, but chose to de-escalate.

During last year's twelve-day war between Israel and Iran, even when the US bombed Iran's nuke sites, and Iran attacked a US military base in Qatar, Trump got both sides to halt the war. I don't think Trump is so unhinged as he wants to start a major war with Iran.

But that comes with a caveat, dear reader, since Trump's adventures in Maduroland (Venezuela) and his spat with NATO Allies over Greenland (which seems to have settled for now), something unhinged as happened to the "Orange one". And that is where the fear is and comes from.
