Reindeer Ride
Another of Angies’ Antics…

One
Spring day
We set out…
Our maiden drive
Sporting a cute set
Of tan reindeer antlers
Led by a ruby red nose
Happily snagged a handy park
Before gasps of shock in unison
Forgotten antlers atop open doors
Startle and cause us to instinctively flinch
Spirits soothe, strolling through the fragrant rose garden
Making our way to the Cobb and Co Farmers’ Markets
On the hunt for Christmas bounty of any kind really
Earrings, decorations, dress-ups or even some gifts
Delicious organic Bubble Tea and dog treats
Entered our sights and were efficiently ‘bagged’
Whilst our true targets eluded capture
Sallying forth to another ‘field’
I blithely wound my window down
Cooling the car as it wove
Jauntily through traffic
‘Til the cry “Oh, No!”
It was missing!
My antler
Was gone!
Oops!

What
Trouble
I was in!
How could I know
It would sprout wings, fly?
Set free when the window
Wound down… it sure made her frown
We beat a hasty retreat back
To the scene of the mistake
Spirits slumped, success slim
Car screeches and stops
We search, scour, hope
“There it is!”
Relief!
Phew!

Back to say congratulations on your Top Story! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊
What a fun piece. Though, I spent the whole poem thinking you and your daughter were wearing antlers on your head that kept getting lost. Then I saw the photograph, which led me back to the top to reread the whole thing. It made more sense that way. 😂I've never seen those car antlers, that was a surprise to me. LOL
This was so fun and festive
Nicely done, I feel you shaped your poetry into a deer
Oooo, organic bubble tea, what flavour did you have? Also, Little Snowy is so cute! Loved your poem!
