Ready to pounce and eat you
Boardroom war begins

Dog Eats Dog
It is dog eat dog, starve your brain, treat the mean to succeed.
That is what they whisper in boardrooms and playgrounds alike.
Do not feel too much, they say, it slows the climb.
Do not pause for the fallen, it stains the shoe.
I have watched kindness folded away like an old coat.
I have seen soft hands harden into fists of ambition.
The loud are fed, the gentle are tested.
The quiet are told they lack hunger.
But I will not gnaw at another to prove I exist.
I will not empty my mind just to fill a throne.
If this world demands teeth, let it keep them.
I would rather keep my soul and walk slower.

Veil of Subconscious Awakening
Images slide behind my eyelids like film cadres, bursting with meanings. In one moment, I’m speeding down the highway, making the speedometer swing wildly like a frantic pendulum. The next moment, I’m plunging from a falling plane, slowly crashing earthward. At home, I meet black cat’s green, googly eyes staring at me from the cavernous hollowness of the kitchen. When I turn for a moment, it disappears, and all I can see is a pair of blue suede shoes set up against the wall. I pick them up and put them on. When I glimpse at them again, they’ve become black as night, making me blink and flinch.

I guess that is just what life is all about. From playground/classroom to the boardroom and wherever else it will always be dog eat dog. Good job.
