Parched Soul
Nonet Poem

Generously, I poured myself out
Reviving your thirsty, parched, soul
Thanklessly, you greedily
Consumed my offering
And expected more
Sadly, empty
I can no
Longer
Give.

Damn. This is the one. This is going in the Anthology. Thanks for sharing this Angie. I am sorry I hadn't read it until now, but I want this immortalised in the book! Thank you for sharing it with me and submitting it. This is powerful and with a pertinent message.
Don't ever let anyone make a dessert out of you ♥
Love the metaphor of this one Angie!! Very clever!!
Gosh, I really felt this one. So good. Great work.
Just an utter lack of balance. It suits the structure.
This is so good, Angie! “Thanklessly”, “greedily”, “consumed” were such a strong progression of words! The strict giver and taker dynamic is never a good one…
It’s amazing how quickly some people believe the sacrifice of others is their due. Beautiful Nonet, Angie!
So true. Those life suckers. They do not know how to give back they suck the life out you. Hopefully you have recovered from such person. Excellent poetry
I've poured into other's empty cups when my own cup was empty, so this was so relatable. I'm trying to learn that we cannot pour from an empty cup. Loved your Nonet!
Clear and compelling, this poem conjures painful memories for me and, no doubt, for many others! Nice work!
This is so raw and evocative. Love it!
