A Rainbow of Birds
Asia Mandarin ducks make their home in forested areas near water in parts of Ireland and in East Asia. Males have brightly colored feathers marked by bright orange, green, red, yellow, and purple. The male mandarin ducks are the most colorful and their faces are marked by stripes of yellow-tinged white, and deep green.

Billy the Rooster
It's a love story that I want to share. It's too sweet to not be told. He is suave, cool, and a real Romeo and I can see why the chicks love him. By his strut, I can tell he knows it. I watch him while he's watching me. We have that eye contact thing going on. Every now and then he gives me that one-eyed side look as he pumps out his chest. That look that all chicks just love.

Why should you do a genetic test on your dog?
Genetic tests in humans are already a common reality to find out about preventable genetic diseases or even to find out the ethnic origin of our ancestors. For example, it is already common to analyze the presence of certain mutations in genes to understand the probability of a person to suffer from certain types of cancer. How could it be otherwise, these types of tests are beginning to be available for our fellow dogs and thus be able to give them better health.

Can an eagle hunt a peacock? Why?
The peacock and the tiger have one thing in common: they are both kings, the tiger is the "king of all animals", and the peacock is the "king of all birds", but its "king" has a fundamental difference, the tiger is my strength to get this title, while the peacock is by "beauty". The tiger is my strength to get this title, while the peacock is by "beauty", in birds, the real strength to get "king" is the eagle.

The nature reserve with a 500-year plan
As I walk along a winding trail through Zealandia, an ecosanctuary in New Zealand's capital city of Wellington, I smell the wet earth from last night's rain, hear birds cackle and sing, and feel a slight chill from the cool breeze. Then, I see it: a streak of yellow landing on a tree branch high above. It's a stitchbird – a sparrow-sized songbird whose Māori name, hihi, refers to the rays of the sun.

Extinct Animals: North American Traveling Pigeon The North American Traveling Pigeon, also known as the Traveling Pigeon, is a famous bird that once lived on the North American continent. At its peak, the traveling pigeon population numbered in the billions, and it was once the most numerous bird not only in North America, but most likely in the world at the time. However, in the early 20th century, the last traveling pigeon died alone in a zoo in the United States, and the species eventually became extinct.

What do the extinct Ogasawara variegated wood pigeon and the endangered red-headed black wood pigeon eat?
In the spring of 1828, the Russian exploration ship "Senavinin" arrived at the Ogasawara Islands in southern Japan. The archipelago was far from mainland Asia and the four major Japanese islands and was uninhabited at the time. For thousands of years, the creatures here have lived and reproduced according to a unique evolutionary path. The entire archipelago is like a museum of biological evolution.
