Dog Walker
I always find that when I take longer walks with my dogs in the morning and evening that it becomes almost meditative exercise for me. A time that I can work out things in my mind that are going on in my life. I have two dogs, and I can tell you that they are always in favor of longer walks or going to an open place that they can run around. When I am on these longer walks, usually 25-45 minutes, it turns out to be a time that I can work out a problem I’m having in my life or help me to refocus myself, put together a plan for the day, or work out a decision I need to make whether it’s something in my personal life or in my professional life. I find these longer walks are especially helpful if I am upset about something or having difficulty with one of the people in my life that I am close with.

A Journey of Intention Discovered through Horses - Part 8
“Do your best until you know better. Then. when you know better, do better.” – Maya Angelou It’s mid-January, and I’m chomping at the bit to ride my horses again. It’s been months, I think! The forecast teased me saying around 30F degree temps, but changed it to colder two days later. It turned out to be mid-20’s and windy. Not my thing. I stayed in the house. And now it’s supposed to get even colder again-like single digits and negatives. So, I don’t ride. I stay antsy indoors and I think too much. My physical limitations keep me basically housebound when there’s too much snow or ice or cold.

How to Move to France With Your Cat
We have a cat, an old cat. He came into my life in the arms of my son. On a visit home from grad school, Josh brought a tiny kitten, a self-possessed furball with a stubby tail. We worried about his survival, being so small, and we hustled him off to the vet to get all the necessary vaccinations and preventatives. Josh named him Willow after the central character in the movie of the same name. He was a little guy with spunk. The two of them returned to Josh’s school where Willow enjoyed his kittenhood in an old brownstone row house with a group of graduate math students.

Night walk
Our family dog is a Keplie cross German Shepherd. He is one of the most loving dogs I’ve ever had in my life and our whole family loves him to bits. He has such a beautiful personality despite his past. He was rescued from the pound as his previous owners just told him to run away as he was the runt of the litter. And due to his previous mistreatment he only gets along with one or two other dogs. However, we are doing our best to teach him that other dogs are alright to be around, and he doesn’t need to be so hostile to other dogs. I just can’t wait to work hard with him and continuing his training to bring much more of his fun loving side out of him. I truly believe one day we may be able to go and allow him to have more doggy friends and truly enjoy life much more.
