goals
Understanding your goals to help you achieve them.
Our Future Is In Our Own Hands
What quality of life do we really have, without having any goals to aim for? What quality of life do we really have, without taking action to achieve the goals we set? The answer to both those questions is the same; a poor one. Without setting goals, and then working hard to actually achieve them, we are not truly living at all, just merely existing. Life is about happiness, satisfaction, and fulfillment, as after all, we are here on borrowed time. Each day that we fail to set goals designed to enhance our own life, but also to uplift and serve others, becomes another day wasted, as too the days that we fail to apply ourselves to the actions that are working towards those goals. Although we have no insight to the time we are blessed to have on this Earth, it doesn't excuse us from planning for our future, and our decisions and actions should always revolve around making that future as awesome as possible. The truth is, our future is in our own hands. How our future pans out comes back to all the decisions we are making, and the actions we are taking, right now. If we have devised our goals, have clear direction, and are in the process of working towards those goals, likely our future continues to become brighter every day we do so. However, if we are just sitting back, wishing, wanting, and expecting life just to deliver us the happiness, success, and prosperity, we desire so greatly, our future is becoming more and more grim by the day. The future will provide us with nothing more than regret, unhappiness, and misery, and the worst part to this is, there's no second chances. The time for action is now!

What Motivates You?
Exercising like running has always been my go to when things get tough or when I need a break from reality. Sometimes life can get so challenging that I just need to get away from the world and just be by myself. Writing does that for me but when it doesn't I go for a run. Not saying that I only run when I'm upset or need to get away but it does help. So when I'm running to cool down and work off some steam I like to listen to some heavy metal bands or songs that are angry and upbeat to keep me calm. Songs like Break by Three Days Grace. I also listen to Just Like You by Three Days Grace, Headstrong by Trapt and many more. Listening to this kind of music speaks to me when I am highly angry and upset.

Over-qualified yet Overlooked
I know I'm consistent and treat everyone equally, because I have faced discrimination, prejudice and bias repeatedly (more so after losing my hearing) and I donβt want anyone feeling this way after interacting with me. Yet, I am aware that I keep my personal life out of professional settings. I value my privacy, but I guess I can understand how others would interpret that as being guarded. My personal goal is to re-evaluate myself at least once a year (this is key to becoming a better/stronger person). Although I am due for another one, my last self-reflection showed five strengths and weaknesses: action-oriented, compassionate, workaholic, protective, and friendly. There is some symmetry; although, it is not the same.

Why as opposed to Why Not?
How often do you always want to start to do something, then life happens and it takes you away from your goal or destination? You may want pause reading to answer this rhetorical question...but while you wonder about this and how you are going to approach this question, may I continue to further explain myself? Life happens, there is no question about it...but why is it takes away from returning to it to figure out your end result? So here goes with what life has given me and hopefully I am able to inspire you in some way to get back in the saddle and realize your goals are doable as well as obtainable.

Whether you like it or not, you are subject to, or even the subject of the best soap opera in the world. The scripts are so far fetched, diverse, scary and a catastrophe lies around every corner. Sometimes your heart is in your mouth almost every minute of every day, wondering what nail-biting moment is going to happen next.

Victory Lap
There are many moments in our lives that are pivotal moments. Some are indellible images we have as memories, and some if we are lucky are able to be captured on camera or video. I recently was given a photo that is one of those indellible moments and my childhood friend was able to capture what I think is the best photo I have ever seen. Let me fill you in on some details first, so you have a little history on who I am and where I am from.

Childhood Dreams...
What was a childhood dream you had when it came to what you really, really wanted to be when you grew up? I know thereβs the astronaut and the next president of the United States. Those can be realistic yes but not as realistic as a teacher, or actor, or even a Broadway dancer. Think about it! Have you really looked back to see if you have achieved those dreams even if for a blink of the eye in your life? Yet, you have still made it to where it had some sort of impact on your life to have meaning enough to be a real GOAL you strived to accomplish.

Don't listen to the majority - listen to your body
Right, first and foremost, I am not trying to say that I have a magic formula for weight loss. It does take hard work, determination, bad days, good days and a whole lot of time. That being said, I am mainly writing this to try to motivate others, and let them know that it is possible, and that it can be done without any of the extreme diets that are currently touted around social media regularly.

Creativity as an antidote for challenging times.. Top Story - November 2020.
βWhen nothing is certain, everything is possible.β Mandy Hale The year of 2020 is an eventful one, to say the least. The intensity, the chaos, the bizarre changes in the society; which at times feel surreal, resembling an apocalyptic movie more than the reality. According to certain ancient texts, however - there is a bigger picture at play, something that has been gaining its momentum since 2012; namely the end of one age and the beginning of another. Everyone remembers the βend of the worldβ prediction connected to the Mayan calendar - apparently (like is the case with many old texts) it was not meant to be taken literally, and the correct interpretation would be - this is the end of the world as we know it.
