Why We Make Resolution and why we Can't Keep Them
Question – The same big question I ask myself every year- why we don’t manage to keep our resolutions. I want to change some things this year, not repeat them over and over again. Every year I make these same resolutions but to no avail. Are we really truly in control of ourselves?

Living Today Like Tomorrow Doesn't Exist
Tomorrow is an Illusion Every person on the planet is guilty of saying it. Those infamous words, “I’ll do it tomorrow.” The words aren’t always the same exact phrase, but the intent and lack thereof are still the same. The problem that we all fail to realize is that “tomorrow” is an illusion. In reality, tomorrow does not exist. At the stroke of midnight, tomorrow becomes today. It will never actually be tomorrow. Every moment you are in is a part of “today.” An entire life is made up of a series of moments that all happen in a series of todays.

101 Intentions in 1001 Days
It's the New Year, and like everyone, I want to change literally every aspect of my life; short, achievable goal, right?! Often, we find that the hope or anticipation of a euphoric moment is a bigger high than actually achieving the specific outcome. And after living and surviving 2020, I realized two things:

Quick-sand
Recently I find that my get up and go is getting up and going. One foot out of the door, threatening to leave. I find myself constantly circling back to this point of desperation where I realise that something must be done in order to fix this relationship. Desperate to win back that spark, that chemistry. Freeing myself from the limited version of life that I'm currently living; the self-imposed limitations, the fear, the fatigue. Crippling.

Loose the Extra Baggage...
Just a year ago, I was working and existing seemingly on autopilot: waking up, working, letting all my stuff amass and feeling too tired and overwhelmed to do a thing about it. Fast forward to March (2020) and I, like many, found myself without employment or the means to afford my rent. So I packed ALL my belongings and moved back home.

A New Year, A New Me
Happy new year, everyone! 2020 was a tough year for everyone and brought a lot of people to tears. To start 2020, the passing of Laker great Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianni, and 7 other passengers in the helicopter crash, literally shook the world. After this heartbreaking news, a ground-breaking bombshell landed in the United States and changed the world forever...COVID-19.

Hey Siri, What Does It Mean When My Check Engine Light Comes On ?
Imagine having a successful day of running errands, with the last thing on your checklist being to go home and relax. While driving home, your check engine light abruptly comes on, illuminating your dashboard like a blinding ray of sunshine on the first day of summer. Im sure we can agree that this means a problem. We might not know what the problem is or when it became one, but now it’s at the forefront. We now have two options. We can choose to immediately take action and get the car serviced to see how progressive the problem may be. It might be as minor as a gas cap not being secure or as major as the engine being about to blow. On the other hand, despite the check engine icon, we can choose to continue driving the car until we actually feel it breaking down, which could then be too late. I tend to think about this scenario when it comes to my health. In doing so, I have began the journey to being health conscience. The first minor ache we feel as people, is in a sense our check engine light coming on. Checking in with your health care provider at the sight of discomfort puts you in a better position to having all options available to you for diagnosing and resolving the health problem at hand. Waiting to be seen after the aches progress in pain or area can decrease chances of healing or even result to a more serious condition. I am not trying to breed the next generation of hypochondriacs, I am giving insight that if an ache is persistent or disturbing, it should be addressed sooner than later and the benefits of it. The answer to whether a nagging headache we may experience is stemming from the minor need of a new eyeglass prescription or something more major like a brain tumor, is on the other side of us taking the initiative to meet with our health care provider to assess our health.

New Flame
One thing that most people can come to an agreement on, is that the year 2020 has been the worst in decades. A global pandemic arose, lethal “murder hornets”, millions of job layoffs, and even various riots and protests year-round for many difficult and controversial issues. The entire year, it was always something new and terrible which made it hard not to be scared to leave your own home. The routine had been so monotonous for what felt like years, so it’s nice that even though all the issues we’ve faced back in 2020 may not be gone going into 2021, we are a little better equipped at handling the various ups and downs of the year. I have made a conscious decision to attempt to simply do more going forward in life, creating better habits for exercise, eating, and general daily activities. I wanted to create some realistic and achievable goals for this new year to match some of the more drastic changes within my life.

Nurturing my mind and soul
2020 was taxing for the best of us. The constant bombardment of COVID news, divided politics, dwindling economy, scarce resources – it was rough. Like many others, I felt the fear, paranoia, and stress at a personal level. So as I bid adieu to the nightmare of a year, I vowed to take a much overdue pledge – to nurture my mind and soul.
