So have your heard ? I bet your have . The up and coming new body shape It seems skinny is out. And thick is in (as long as your skinny too. ) This seems impossible. Well it’s not, hear me out.

What does it mean to you, the body shape slim thick ? Or have your even heard of it ?

If you have social media especially Instagram, no doubt you have seen this up and coming body type on every model .

What is slim thick?

There’s not much to complain about when you have a body that’s slim, but thick in the right places – as Thanos would say, it’s ‘perfectly balanced, as all things should be’.

Slim-thick is the up-and-coming body in the industry.

It is characterized by an insanely small waist, a large Butt, and moderately sized legs.

You can’t miss it while scrolling through Instagram. While many models may achieve their bodies surgically, there are others who have adapted the perfect workout routine to earn this flattering figure.

I think it’s important to remember that most of the “slim thick” figures you see on Instagram have had some photo shopping, waist training and plastic surgery.

Basically they have time and money to achieve this body type. So don’t compare yourself to these unrealistic expectations that are dangerously being put online. It’s not good for our health to do that.

We are only in Competition with our selves, and even then we need to be gentle with our self's. However I do believe that through, consistent, hard work and time, i will begin to see some positive changes in myself, and my confidence

Focus on thighs, bum and Hips

Now this can be genetic and also something that you can work towards with consistent workout and good nutrition.

From the research I have done, I have figured this… When strength training, target your hips ,glutes, and thighs, will help you on your way.

The great thing about strength training is your can do it pretty much anywhere.

At home , at the gym. With or without equipment, although for quicker results I would add weights and or resistance bands .

Be smart about the cardio

Some people may think that giving up cardio Completely is the best move for Weight gain, however that won’t be the best move for our overall health.

Cardio has many health benefits like improving cardiovascular health, lowers blood pressure, helps regulate blood sugar, reduces chronic pain and many more, Instead just do a lot more strength training than, you would cardio.

For example, your could do 3/4 days strength, and do cardio 3 times a week for 20 minutes basically just don’t intensify it, have in your mind your doing it for health reasons not for your Weight .

Eat the right foods

Food is the foundation of your Weight gain, curves and muscle. Have staple foods in your diet. Ensuring your daily food intake is plentiful with protein , carbohydrates and healthy fats, don’t forget at least 5 portions of fruit and veg, it’s very important to consume mostly healthy foods even when your try to gain Weight.

Eating unhealthy foods may lead to Weight gain, however will not give your the nutrition your body needs. Be extra generous with the portion sizes, the more the better, for the extra small, slim, petite woman/man, just eat more calories than your body burns. Consistence is the key so keep going, keep tracking and don’t give up.

Yes everyone comes in different shapes and sizes and from various Genetic pools, and some people will say that you can not change your body shape. However, if you target your strength training and bulk up your legs using exercises that focus on Butt and thighs, it is possible to make the changes you desire .

Although it’s not an easy challenge to take on, it is very much possible to gain weight and then target where your would like it go with strength training, however it takes time and hard work and commitment. Nothing worth it comes easy or everyone would do it .

I gained 2 stone in 4 months, I was eating double what I usually ate, plus I did lots of lower body working out, as I was traveling at the time I didn’t have any access to any exercise equipment so I did it without, now I am excited to see the gains will be once I add equipment to the routines.

I would like to say, that we should be proud of our body no matter what shape or size.

We are all beautiful. However, I do want to gain Weight , and I do believe there is always room for improvement, and I like the idea of being able to change my body shape to make it more curvy, it’s interesting. I can’t wait to see the results.

Before and after pictures will come soon. So what’s your thoughts ? Anyone else in my shoes, trying to gain Weight ? Would love to hear from your
