Sometimes.. you have to take the long way around
Paul was no stranger to a good short-cut. He even believed that he was born two months early because he thought nine months was too long for any person. He became known to those most familiar with him as "Shortcut Paul". The alarm went off with a loud sounding buzz awakening Paul from his sound sleep. Paul sat straight up in bed startled by the buzzing clock. He immediately jumped out of bed, and nearly tripped on the litter of clothing lying around the room as he made his way to the bathroom to shower.

Complaining is so 2020
I had a cheerful group of friends. It was the highlight of my month to get together with this vibrant group of women to chat, enjoy a potluck, have a glass of wine. Then the coronavirus hit. When the world went virtual, we kept up the meetings via Zoom, and at the beginning, it was not that different; we still had fun. But then I realized I didn't want to join anymore. For a while, I thought it was my mood that kept me from wanting to socialize. I had to travel overseas right at the start of the pandemic to help my mother take care of my sick father, so I assume I was too tired to join (I tell that story in my piece Happiness is My New Year's Resolution).

Eat the Damn Pasta
I know you. You probably have your cute matching gym clothes on. You’ve probably saved a workout to do by one of your favorite fitness influencers on Instagram. You might have even stretched, foam rolled, drank your pre workout… but you probably won’t go to the gym. Why? You tell yourself that you’re too tired and your left ankle hurts and you have a headache and you make all the excuses but the real truth is that you just don’t want to have to KEEP doing it. You don’t want to have to start holding yourself accountable because hey, this is comfy right? You are doing fine for now, right? So let’s just relax on the couch and maybe try again next week.

I just need to …
I have always been an advocate for continuous learning, setting goals, having ambitions and working hard to accomplish my dreams, as we all should have dreams to work towards, no matter how big or small. However, over the last few years I have been more receptive to asking, why? What need in me am I trying to fulfil and is this just a temporary fix before moving on to something new to curb my need?

Giving not asking
Winter, a time where it's amazing when you're warm and cold when you ain't. It's the time where most of the people get a chance to get together. It becomes a reason why people eager for gatherings and others for food. Having no bumps in our paths, always put our heart onto comfy treasures. No sacrifice, no care, no lively aspect of life and nothing. Treasure is something we know as a precious things but it's our heart , which's treasurer than all. The worldly treasure can be found in one place but our heart can be in many places.

The Sound of Silence: You Need to Talk Less
“God is silent. Now if only man would shut up.” ― Woody Allen We are too used to talking. Anywhere I go, I see an endless chatter about any topic. Most of the time the only thing I hear are completely uninformed opinions, generalizations, and unneeded drama.

Perfectly Imperfect
What are these pesky emotions good for anyway? Emotions help us in so many ways. They help us enjoy life, they help us process trauma, they allow us to discover our boundaries and, in the process, understand ourselves on a deeper level. Allowing ourselves to feel both pleasant and uncomfortable emotions give us the full spectrum of the human experience.

Why COVID 19 is causing procrastination
COVID 19 has caused the world to go into complete chaos. At the start of the pandemic there were some skeptics (I was one) some who took COVID 19 as a joke, and some who found the need to use COVID 19 as an excuse. COVID 19 became an excuse for anything. "I need toilet paper because soon I'm not going to be able to go to a store and I will do anything to get it." This mentality caused human beings to hurt one another. "I got laid off from my job, so now I'm on vacation." While both examples are different, they are both harmful. So, why is COVID causing us to be lazy, or procrastinate and how do we stop the cycle?
