Towards better things
It was around 8pm that Peter liked most in the office. Free of distractions from colleagues who had long since gone home and his chance to reflect. He loved his job, perhaps a little too much and worked hard to become Head of Architecture at the age of 29.

I have always been an advocate for continuous learning, setting goals, having ambitions and working hard to accomplish my dreams, as we all should have dreams to work towards, no matter how big or small. However, over the last few years I have been more receptive to asking, why? What need in me am I trying to fulfil and is this just a temporary fix before moving on to something new to curb my need?

Force of nature
An almighty storm was imminent. The clouds suggested as much, and it wouldn’t be long before the wind picked up steam. It was transpiring rapidly with the darkness caving in as the howls of the wind created intense ripples on the surface of the water.

Solitude in tulips
Solitude is thought to be something we wish to avoid, the fear of being alone but as I gazed at the vast array of pretty tulips, their vibrancy and almost perfectly orchestrated symmetry were illuminated from the rays of sunshine beaming upon them, I felt captivated. I reflected on how beautiful nature was, the way the bold colours of the tulips caught the light casting long blood orange and yellow flushes across the landscaped garden, their broad leaves providing a shield to their long rigid stems, how they opened to the full light and when the sun went down how they would close.
