Good morning and welcome to the June 30 edition of my Monday Morning Huddle! Today's focus is the cabbage white butterfly and its subtle flutters, uttering timely spiritual messages. If you've stopped today, I want to thank you and hope you find something useful in this installment of my weekly series meant to uplift, inspire, and maybe, just maybe, make you think outside the box.

Typical of all butterflies, the cabbage white represents transition and transformation. Metamorphosis at its finest, the life cycle of a butterfly consists of four stages: egg, larva(caterpillar), pupa(chrysalis), and butterfly.

Humans can liken their insect counterparts' life cycle to their own through reflection, comparing different stages of physical development, as well as delving deeper to abstract spiritual lessons on the path to growth and enlightenment.

Comparative narratives may include

  • relationships
  • letting go of old habits
  • rising to face challenges

The cabbage white butterfly offers unique spiritual symbolism transcending traditional specifications.

The color white, indicative of purity and innocence, lends a softer appeal. While transformation is an obvious narrative, paired with the helping hand of grace (white breathes in symbolic texts, religious, & spiritual), the cabbage white butterfly bears another message: slow down and observe details in the natural world.

THINK: a testament to the connection between the natural and spiritual.

PRACTICE: observing minor details in nature- ones often overlooked or disregarded.

RESULT: discover connections & links between the natural world and the spiritual realm- epiphanies, signs, symbols through plants, flowers, insects, birds, etc...

With practice, parallels between earth and a higher plane of existence become second nature, but in reality, our higher state takes precedence; we are spiritual beings first housed by our physical form.

Here as humans to learn human lessons with the aid of spirit.

Additional Utterings of one who Flutters

Native to Eurasia and found in Canada and the United States, the cabbage white butterfly is found in gardens, especially among cabbage plants, daisylike flowers, asters, and mustards.

Noteworthy: an extremely short life span- an adult butterfly typically lives one to three weeks, with a focus on mating and reproduction.

Imagine that; the one whose existence is most fleeting, offers much inspiration, enough to last a human lifetime. Consider this, especially when going through change and all the heavy hearted moments along the way.

So many messages passing by with the flying cabbage white; here are some more for your consideration.

The color white utters comfort and peace and is associated with loved ones who have passed on. If you believe the dead speak to us from beyond, like I do, this notion may provide solace and tranquility during heightened emotional states. A simple butterfly encounter, its flits and flutters, be stills the heart, separate yet together, we are never truly apart- allow this perspective when feeling down, and just know that those departed are always with you.

Hold them near and dear to your heart; sweet sentiments, reflection- memories keep them alive.

It is said that angels are near, watching you, when a cabbage white appears. Angelic connections are abundant in nature, especially among flora and fauna. Know you are safe, protected, and taken under the wings of the celestial beings when the elegant white ones gracefully cup and clap in your proximity.

Additional spirit messages include luck, blessings, and good things on the horizon.

Perhaps the best way to receive your spirit message is to sit in silence, take deep breaths, and let all of the world's noise fall away. Practice attuning, and soon, you will receive what is meant for you at any particular moment.

A simple butterfly encounter, its flits and flutters, be stills the heart, separate yet together, we are never truly apart.

I hope you enjoyed today's Monday Morning Huddle and wish everyone a beautiful week! Please drop me a line, share an experience, or a perspective. Just like a workplace huddle inspires productivity and camaraderie among employees, my virtual one inspires uplifted spirits, creative mindsets, and outside-the-box thinking.

And sharing thoughts helps elevate humanity!

    Great!! Thank you 😊💕

  • Sage counsel, even if I am only able to recognize but not yet receive it.

  • Oh wow, I don't think I've ever seen a white butterfly before. He is like so purely white. Wow, so beautiful! And yes, I totally agree that we are all spirits having a human/physical experience

Gosh that is a short life span. And you're right, maybe we do need to put things into perspective and appreciate both the good and bad things in our life. Another fantastic piece from you and I love the photos too.

Haha, that last line made me laugh out loud! I've never seen a cabbage white before... I guess the UK has different species of butterfly. They're all very pretty, though I don't know what they're called, lol. Another wholesome Monday Huddle, Marilyn! 💛 I hope your week is a blessed one.

I never knew that was their name. A successful Monday huddle. Made me feel energized and I'll be looking out for the Cabbage White today. Have a great week, Marilyn!

  • Such a gentle yet powerful reminder of how much wisdom can flutter by when we slow down enough to notice. I loved the way you wove symbolism, reflection, and spiritual presence into something as delicate as a cabbage white butterfly. That line—“separate yet together, we are never truly apart”—truly stayed with me. Thank you for this Monday moment of stillness and soul.

This is so beautiful, Marilyn. All that last part, I think like you do. And this was so nice to read at this point in my life. The butterflies is beautiful so are the photos. 💕

Good job. I see these butterflies all around and they must be like cardinals for when I see them at the feeders, I know I am being visited by someone and now I know when I see these little white butterflies I am still being visited.

  • Some lovely thoughts and considerations here and a cabbage white has hit my window twice this morning
