Gerald’s Stars. Honorable Mention in The Second First Time Challenge.
Gerald kept his head down, the sky a detestable sight. Sun or rain, it didn’t matter. Hanging his shopping bag on his wrist, he pulled out a cigarette and sought a lighter from his pocket as he waited by the side of the road.

Giving Fear A Walloping. Honorable Mention in I Wrote This Challenge. Top Story - June 2025.
For a long time now, I've been terrified of heights. Mortified. Can’t bloody stand them. Ever since the first moment I went up somewhere high, I knew I wanted to be on safe ground. If heaven and hell really do exist in their stereotypical positions, I think I know which one I'd rather be in.

Vacillating No More… Or Will I?. Top Story - May 2025.
Dear Brain (or whatever may be in my head), We both know what this is about. Ever since I was an ugly little thing which passed off as a human child or possibly Cthulhu’s long-lost cousin, I've always had difficulty in making choices. I can't make the quick decisions like everyone else; you know, like normal people can. It’s a battle to decide on one thing or the other, be it something inconsequential or something serious with disastrous outcomes.

The Sun of Life. Content Warning.
I had finished maintenance on the teleporter in record time. Yeah, go me. I pumped my fist. My face suddenly flushed at the thought of anyone witnessing my display of outward triumph. Thankfully, people milled about like every other day. Children ran around without care for their concerned parents, the restaurant across the river were cooking their signature noddle dishes, and the birds were perched on the virtual recognition of a tree.

“The Not-So-Pleasant King” - song
A song written for the challenge and for funsies (I'm not a professional songwriter). Sound wise: think rock. Or perhaps wacky rock. There will be no video or audio attached - I've had enough embarrassment to last three eternities already (sorry). Hopefully the tone comes out in the lyrics.

Geeking out over Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Turn away now if you don't wish to hear someone gush about an anime they love. No hard feelings here, anime isn't for everyone. Neither is my rambling about why I like it... but I suppose you're still reading, so here we are.

A Village Named Yellow. Content Warning.
The village ahead was so bright it was like the sun had descended and left a part of itself behind before rising back into its rightful place. The kiss of light could be seen from miles, a luminescent beacon garnering attention, and Rory drove steadily along the pothole-littered road towards the village.

Memory’s Hammer
My problems are tiny compared to so many others. I know that. I just wanted to share a moment in my life which still lingers in my mind, popping up like a colourless firework on days when I least suspect it. I don’t really know why it’s still there, rattling in my head, because it’s not the most devastating of blows compared to what other people have struggled with, but my mind likes embiggening the balloon of inadequacy known as me, my life, and my social incapability.
