love
All you need is Love, and Love is all you need.
Sincerely, a lonely flame.
No matter which way this was gonna go, my mind was at ease, because I know you’ll be okay. You may never chose me, but I will always chose you. Even if I have to play the bestfriend role, for you, I’ll win oscars. Even though I wanted to be a singer, I’ll be an actor for you. Deep down, I know damn well that’s not the script I want to read. But I don’t care what I want, my heart tells me to do what you want, what you need. I’ll do my best to make you feel safe the only way I know how. I always felt like this was going to be a one way street, but my heart told me to keep walking down that road no matter how far away I watch you disappear into the horizon. I’ll walk behind you and admire your growth from a distance. Whatever it is, I’ll do it. As long as you’re okay. I say all this with as much compassion as my soul will allow.

A proposal, a check, and a chance for life
Today was the day it was finally happening and still I wasn’t ready for it. After months of searching, waiting, and hoping all the funds would come through, the day had finally arrived. Of course, I was trapped at the office with last minute requests from the senior vice president and forced to rush out the door. There was no reason for me to take the day off, but it was agonizing to understand the relevance of corporate immediacy when David was in the hospital. David didn’t need me there and the hospital wasn’t allowing visitors until he was moved into the ICU. But, still, I wanted to be able to devote every thought and ounce of positivity towards him as he braved the surgery we had been praying for this past year.

That Gnawing Feeling
Vanessa glanced over at the little black book and sighed deeply. How could something so small be so unnerving and consuming of her security? She could feel the anxiety rising in her throat, as she tried to swallow it away while her chest rose and fell heavily. She wondered if anyone else could hear her heartbeat as it pounded loudly drowning out her co-workers in this incessant meeting. The instructions were clear: she would receive the money as long as she didn't open the little black book with pages that contained information about her fiance. Her sweet, handsome, and charming Ben who she met over a year ago and quickly became enchanted with. Sometimes, she wondered if it were all too perfect to actually be true. And, now, a few inches from her daily planner was a source of undeniable enticement that appeared inexplicably in her office doorway.

I love You to the Moon and Back
Under the bright, silvery full moon, she sat and gazed into the deep endless darkened sky, filled with countless glittering stars. This is where she usually found her solace, but nothing made her feel whole. Sitting there cold and alone curled up into a ball, focusing on the throbbing pain deep within. Tears poured out of her ocean blue eyes, down her rosy cheeks, and onto his favorite flannel shirt that she had wrapped tightly around her. Feeling lifeless, her mind ran a mile a minute. She was overwhelmed with thoughts. “What am I going to do? How am I ever going to carry on? How could he do this to me? I can't do this alone!”

For the Love of Money
For the Love of Money A Tale About The Love of My Life Aedonis Morrison was an enigma. He was smart but poor, and that seemed to confuse people. It wasn’t entirely the fact that the young man was poor; Aedonis was also a relatively quiet black man, which led people to believe he had mental deficiencies rather than the truth: he didn’t fancy people. He hated loud spaces, the obnoxious way people chewed their food, and the leisure everyone except him seemed to be able to enjoy. But most of all, Aedonis hated money. He hated the way it shaped the reality of the world and the way it changed people. He loathed the very existence of currency and the necessity of it all. It condemned people to hell while raising others higher than the heavens, and he could never understand it. However, Aedonis did know that he’d need it to survive in his life. So he made himself a promise: Mr. Morrison was sure that he’d never change when he finally earned the money he lacked in his life.

Love Letter: A sailor's heart
Love letters can be wonderful affirmations of love and I was lucky enough to write and receive love letters with a partner in the navy. I always believed that written feelings show so much bravery, but also are such a lovely and romantic way of expressing your love for that special person in your life.

For Sunshine
His handwriting trembled across the page, and the tears about to fall from her eyes only made the words harder to read. The package had come in the mail, wrapped in brown paper. It contained a simple black moleskine notebook, and when she opened it, she immediately recognized the handwriting. It had arrived about a week after...

The House On High St.
Finally, I'm heading home. The need for rest is clawing at my heels and my feet grow heavier with every step. After three days of overtime I will finally have a day off, my first in weeks. I wish I could afford to hire someone, but with the business being so new I just can’t swing it right now. Not to mention how hard it is to find good help. ‘Especially when you’re so picky,’ I think to myself as I step onto the deserted bus.
