love
All you need is Love, and Love is all you need.
Love
There are better ways to describe love than using the word love. It's embrace, empathy, passion, right? Still wrong. Love is inexplicable. It's not a feeling, its a being. Love breathes strong, clear breaths. They say when you know you know but I disagree. Don't be fooled, love is strong and clear but it is confusing, suffocating, and bitter at times. So there is no way to truly know if someone is right for you. It is a mix of all things beautifully and toxically consuming.

Blame it on Mercury Retrograde
Blame it on Mercury Retrograde! My flat tire, the miscommunication at work, anything that doesn’t go my way. Blame it on Mercury Retrograde. The planet appearing to move backwards always has weird effects. I blame it for all of it, just like everyone else. I blame it for the sluggishness to get out of bed, for the lack of motivation to do the bare minimum.

F*ck Ruin
Ever have something in your life fall apart? A relationship, a job, a situation. Have you ever felt devastated that it fell apart? Or have you been happy. I'd like to propose that ruin is a gift. Have you ever watched Eat Pray Love? If so, do you remember that scene where Elizabeth is emailing her lost lover and explaining that ruin is gift? I think sometimes we forget that concept in the midst of ruin. And that's completely understandable. Ruin is painful and it hurts for a very long time. You have to go through much healing to get to a place of peace again. And that's okay as well. Healing takes time as I've written about before. But this isn't about healing. It's about ruin being a gift. You may not see it at first and that's okay! Overtime however you'll come to these realizations.

I Thought We Were Just Friends
It was the 90's. I had no idea what love really was. I was insecure, unstable and unhappy. It was a Thursday night and I had been sleeping in a shelter in the park, at a time when I was going through some issues. I wasn't alone, I was with several friends, playing music, listening to them talk about guitars (often the main topic of conversation with these friends!).

What Falling in Love Feels Like
Your stomach fills with all of these butterflies. Some float around with a touch of blue to symbolize the sadness after thinking about all the bad things that could happen. Some flutter around with a touch of solid white to symbolize every single thought you have about them. And some are yellow to give meaning to the laughs, the smiles, and all of the joy they bring to you. Those butterflies don’t always mean you’re nervous, and they don’t always mean you’re scared. Sometimes they all run into each other when you don’t know what to think. Those butterflies are filled with the love you hold for that singular person.

When I Wanted To Fall In Love, I Learned To Fall In Love With Myself
I craved affection of some sort. I wanted to feel as if I was beautiful, but if I told myself, I’d never believe it. I desired someone’s shoulder for my tears to fall on when I needed it. I hoped there’d be a hand to hold and for someone to tell me “It’ll be okay” even if it won’t be. I wished someone's hand would be in mine as I drove to wherever I was headed.

We love a lifetime, or too short
Mr. Shen Congwen has a saying: "We love each other for a lifetime, or too short!" I was enlightened. I know many people who feel that life is too long, especially married life, is too painful, and wish that life could be over quickly so that they could suffer less. I can't wait to get a divorce so I don't have to see that person again. As a result, many divorced people never speak to each other again. Even when they met, they were like enemies.
