humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
What To Do Instead of Cheating
1. Distract yourself with tv! Start watching those shows on Netflix you’ve been dying to watch. Rewatch your favorites on Hulu. Or catch up on those shows you once never thought of missing. Tv can fry your brains, but not as bad as sitting around wondering why you haven’t gotten a text back.

The Soul Cages
I planted daffodils today. Pale buttery ones with burnt orange centers. As it has snowed here the last 6 Sundays, I acted in deliberate faith that Spring is finally here. Connor and I dug up the bed around the big oak and we portioned the bursting bulbs out in couples. Each bulb has a partner so they support each other through the coming years like little maturing couples. Every year they will shed their crinkly outer skin and renew themselves in a party of green stalks and showy summer outfits.

The War on Race
We have all heard of the Black Lives Matter movement, we have all witnessed the marches, and we have all heard the counterargument! The counterargument being that ALL lives matter. But how much conviction does this argument hold, and do all lives REALLY matter to those who speak those words?

People in my life
I grew up in the Kensington section of Philadelphia PA. The movie Rocky was filmed in parts of Kensington so that neighborhood got a reputation of being a place of toughness. Even the women were fierce. I'm pretty sure there's even a song called Kensington Girls. When I lived there it was a neighborhood not only of toughness but gangs as well. Nothing really serious. Just a bunch of teenagers calling themselves something.

Life InThe Pandemic Times
I am going to be talking about unfairness and racism today. I never thought I would experience it in my life because of how I am and what type of person I am, but I have. California has been a wake-up call for me and not in the right way. I must admit that I have never experienced racism in my life until I moved to California. I come from Alaska, and it was never something that I knew. In California, though, it seems to be all I experience regularly. On the street, I stand at a walk sign and have people move away from me multiple times or ride a bus or sometimes even walk down the street.

3 Things Prison Taught Me About My Marriage
Seven and a half years. That's how long my hell lasted, but I deserved every minute of it. I wish I could say I was guilt-free, that the universe and an unfair judicial system had the wrong guy, that those handcuffs holding my arms back were for some other man, that one day someone was going to walk in my cell and tell me it was all some big misunderstanding.

The Making Of A Santa
The Making of A Santa How many of us want to grow up and be Santa or Mrs. Claus? I can honestly say I don’t know anyone that as a child said I want to be Santa or Mrs. Claus. I don’t think that Al and Barb Davis had those dreams as child; well not that they could remember. I had the joy of speaking to Barb Prentiss-Davis last week. I had no idea when I made the call to her that I would be brought to tears by her story. Of course, they were happy tears.

The Divide
Why are you mad? Don't say you aren't mad. You are, even if it just a little bit. When was the last time you went an entire day without getting pissed of at something you heard on the radio, t.v. or internet? Can you remember a day where something didn't get under your skin? Did you spouse leave socks on the floor next to the dirty clothes hamper? Were your lucky undies in the dirty clothes on the day of that really important interview?
