Reviews of the top geek movies, tv, and books in the industry.
'X-Men: Dark Phoenix'
This is my first post on Vocal. My name is Wasif Chowdhury, and I am an aspiring actor and writer. I will mainly be reviewing movies as I work in cinema and I do get free tickets. I am also going to be reviewing TV shows that I binge-watched or am currently watching. I will only do movies and TV shows that came out recently, and occasionally I will write reviews on old movies and TV shows too. I will also be reviewing anime and games, but not on a regular basis.

My Review of 'The Kid Who Would be King'
The Kid Who Would be King is yet another take on the King Arthur story. We had a recent King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, that starred Charlie Hunnam only about two years ago. I didn't think that movie was all that bad, but it flopped in the box office. This is why I was so surprised that they'd come out with yet another King Arthur movie so fast.

An Ideal of Hope
Art expresses something of the symbol of the natural world, it is an imitation of life, for it seeks to convey through symbol, audio, and visual image, a reflection, a truth, and the goodness of life itself. In contemporary life, there subsists a strained relation between the artistic expression and aesthetics—the philosophy of beauty—and it is certain that, this results from the loss of the religious sentiment of life: the contemplation of Beauty, found in the permanence of God, has ceded the place for praxis, that is, technology and a certain affection for only the consumerist production of things.

'The Bar' - Review (Netflix)
Elena (Bianca Suárez) is a beautiful young woman living in Madrid. She goes about her life, chatting on the phone to her friend as she explains what she is wearing for a date she is on her way to. Sergio (Alejandro Awada) is enthusiastically telling someone about a great deal he has on some merchandise.

'Last Man Club'
Very similar to a Sam Shepard play, Last Man Club is a gritty play, that is also reminiscent of a Twilight Zone episode. Set in a dust bowl, a family struggles with a deep drought. Desperate to have rain, they believe it will come, even if it by a snake oil salesman.

Your Future Is DUST—Speculative Short Films
Last month, I canceled my Netflix subscription. A big part of it was cost—starting a new phase in life requires some extra money on hand, and every dollar counts—but I can’t deny that part of it was the boredom. The mindless searching through Netflix’s algorithm to find something good to watch, then closing the window after 30-40 minutes of fruitless wandering. My time, literally eaten up by the inability to choose.

'Toy Story 4' Tells a Beautiful, Well-Animated Story That Serves as a Perfect Ending to the Series
Take a look at this picture. A few days ago, I was looking through some of my old article drafts, and I found this draft: an article I entitled, "Do We Even Need a 'Toy Story 4'?'. I hadn't edited it in over a year, and when I clicked on it, I saw that I didn't really have anything worth writing about.
