Ahiru no Sora
What stands out about Ahiru no Sora is that fact that while basketball is a huge component of the anime, and a lot of time is devoted to it, much of the drama in the narrative comes from outside of the court. It is a story that revolves around the characters rather than the sport itself, which makes it different from sports anime such as Haikyuu, or Kuroko no Basket. This makes it neither better nor worse than either of the anime I mentioned, it makes Ahiru different.

Moriarty the Patriot
Moriarty the Patriot is an interpretation of the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This interpretation surrounds the origins and exploits of Professor James Moriarty, alongside his entourage, while we are introduced to Sherlock and the rest of the protagonist characters we all know and love as the show progresses. Part one of season one has ended with the second part to begin in a few months at the time of this writing. In short, this is a thoroughly engaging show to watch and I would highly recommend it. The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited
This was quite the curious show. It was as if someone wondered, what would happen if Bruce Wayne chose to be a rich detective as opposed to Batman, and was partnered with a rookie Jim Gordon? It starts out as a case of the week format before it morphs into a long form narrative which encompasses the entirety of the remainder of the show. In addition to this, as it is an eleven episode show one can be done watching it in a single afternoon.

Our love has always been 10 centimeters apart.
This is the third and final story that takes place in this, universe? Unlike the previous two stories, which were both films, this is a series. It lasts six episodes in total, and revolves around a couple that was in the background throughout the previous two films. There are some really fascinating things going on in this show, however it never feels as if there was any time to let any of the ideas breath properly. Conceptually, much like the previous two films, the main theme of the series revolves around love, and the various aspects that relate to it.

An Anime Review of 'The Moment You Fell in Love'
The Moment You Fell in Love is a story that exists parallel to the events of I’ve Always Liked You. These are the events that revolve around the younger siblings of the two leads in the first film during the same basic stretch of time. There is also a show that further expands on the characters further, however that is something we are going to be talking about another time. Till then we are going to be talking about whether this was better, worse, or similar in quality to the first film. The film clocks in at the hour mark so it is a quick watch.

An Anime Review of 'I've Always Liked You'
I’ve Always Liked You is one of two anime that was produced by Qualia Animation, and both anime are related to the same source. The second is the film The Moment You Fell in Love, both of which were released in 2016. There is a side story that was released in the form of a six episode series produced by Lay-Duce, the same studio behind Magi: Adventure of Sinbad. I’ve Always Liked You is an hour long and revolves around seven friends who all have feelings for each other. Some have mutual feelings, some are unrequited, and some are simply willing to take a chance.

An Anime Review of 'Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle for Unato.'
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: Battle for Unato, is the feature film sequel to the series that premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2016. The film was released in the spring of 2019, and is currently available to watch on Netflix. Kabaneri is a series that I have mixed feelings about. There are aspects of it that I really enjoy, the visuals are stunning, the production level is of such a standard that it looks fresh four years later. The soundtrack by Hiroyuki Sawano is so good I still listen to it. The characters have unique designs, unique abilities, and contrasting personalities which makes their interactions very interesting. It was the execution of the main villain, and the methods of which the action set pieces were initiated that I had a majority of my problems with.

An Anime Review of 'Dorohedoro'
Dorohedoro is an anime that is produced by studio MAPPA, and is based on the manga that ran from 2000 till 2018. The concept of the show is quite intriguing as it revolves around a man with a lizard head who is trying to find the person that cursed him so that he could reverse the spell. The caveat is that he does not remember anything from before the point he had his lizard head. This is Kaiman, and he is assisted by his friend Nikaido in his search for said magic user. What unravels is a fever dream that is both intriguing, and a fun time that will more often than not put a smile on your face.

An Anime Review of 'Baki' (Netflix Part 3)
Baki, season 4? Or season 2 of the Netflix Baki? Part 3 in Netflix? Dropped on Netflix in June and it continues on in its glorious path of ridiculousness and mayhem. The latest season carries on from where the previous left off, giving us a quick rundown of what has happened until this point, covering what happened in the seasons that are not available on Netflix as well, which is good? Ultimately, it did not hinder my excitement while watching the show, though it would add a lot more context and depth to the characters and their relationships in these two seasons. Regardless, I had little to no trouble following what was happening in the narrative having only seen the Netflix show.

An Anime Review of 'Babylon'
Babylon transformed from a show that I had an interest in watching, to being one of my favourites of the year. It is based on three novels by Nozaki Mado, and was adapted as an anime by the studio Revoroot, the same studio behind FLCL Alternative. What I was expecting was a simple detective thriller, however what we ended up getting is possibly the most fascinating exploration of human understanding that I have seen from an anime in a while. While this is a show that I loved, and wish more people saw, this is simultaneously a show I am not certain if I can recommend without multiple heads ups.

An Anime Review of 'Vinland Saga'
Considering the fact that this show was produced by Wit Studios, I had no doubt that at the very least, there would be a high production level. By the end of the season I was left wanting so much more from the world that we were introduced to, and after twenty four episodes we were only being introduced as this entire season was in fact the prologue to the narrative. The manga has been going since 2005 and has collected twenty three volumes at the time of this writing so there is clearly plenty of story to tell yet. A second season has been announced though a release date has not been disclosed yet.

An Emphatic no to 'Mr Love: Queen's Choice'
EVOLxLOVE, or Mr. Love: Queen's Choice, is an anime that I needed no encouragement in dropping after a single episode. During the runtime of the episode, whether it was produced by MAPPA or not, it was becoming more and more obvious that it was simply not for me. Which is surprising when the individual elements are all things that I would ordinarily be drawn to. A television executive that is trying her best to make sure that her company stays afloat, combined with a world where there are people with superpowers living in secret. This is the kind of show that I would ordinarily watch, because it speaks to my love of superhuman tropes, and my education in media.
