'Stranger Things 3' Reflection
Having finished Stranger Things 3, I have some non-spoiler thoughts to present, followed by marked spoiler thoughts. Overall, I thought the season was good. I am not sure whether I prefer it over the previous seasons, but I do think that no scene has topped the Snow Ball dance at the end of season two in terms of how emotional it feels. One's mileage may vary, of course. Without diving deep right away, I have some impressions regarding the nostalgia factor. And then after that, other aspects that I cannot really discuss without spoiling.

Movie Review - 'Spider-Man: Far From Home'
Obviously, any sequel or continuation of any story, especially in the movie business, is inherently pressured to live up to the original's reputation. But Marvel somehow has a very potent immunity to this "Sequel Curse," as I like to call it; it's honestly more difficult for me to review a Marvel film out of any others, because I always feel like I'm repeating the obvious; that the movie is fantastic, that it's fun, it's funny, action-packed, filled to the brim with Easter Eggs that only the hardcore comic nerds understand, everything of that ilk.

'We Die Young' (2019)
When Rincon started doing his Shakespeare,you knew some poor bastard’s about to get smoked. We Die Young is not a typical Jean-Claude Van Damme film, where he can show off his trained body. In fact, in this film, the number of times Van Damme is demonstrating his fighting techniques, is almost nil. So don’t expect any splits. Actually, it’s kind of understandable, because “The muscles of Brussels” isn’t the youngest anymore. And I can imagine that such efforts are no longer evident.

Spider-Man In A Galaxy Far Far Away
SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME IS NOW IN THEATRES! I had the privilege of seeing the next chapter of "web head" yesterday, July 3rd, just in time to take the day off while the country observes Independence Day. The story takes place in Europe, during Peter's summer trip, and even though he just wants to enjoy his vacation (and impress M.J.), Nick Fury has a mission for Spidey.

Watching 'Shaft' 2019
Shaft (2019) is the third incarnation of the Shaft franchise that all exist in the same continuity, with the third generation Shaft taking the lead this time around. The film stars Jesse T. Usher (Level Up, Independence Day: Resurgence, Almost Christmas) as the third generation Shaft, Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace) as the second generation Shaft, and Richard Roundtree (Shaft, Brick, Speed Racer) returning to the franchise to reprise his role as the first generation, original Shaft. In addition, the film stars Regina Hall (Girls Trip, Scary Movie, Law Abiding Citizen), and Alexandra Shipp (Love, Simon, X-Men Apocalypse, Straight Outta Compton) as supporting characters. The film is directed by Tim Story (Barbershop, Think Like a Man, Fantastic Four), and is written by prolific TV writers Kenya Barris (Girls Trip, Black-ish, Barbershop: The Next Cut) and Alex Barnow (The Goldbergs, Mr. Sunshine, Rule of Engagement). The film has a runtime of 111 minutes and was distributed in the UK by Netflix.

Watching 'The Rising of the Shield Hero'
The Rising of the Shield Hero is a winter 2019 anime based on the novel by Aneko Yusagi (Story), and Minami Seira (Art). The show is produced by Studio Kinema Citrus (Made in Abyss, Barakamon), and is directed by Abo Takao (Black Lagoon The Second Barrage—episode director, Made in Abyss—storyboard). The music is composed by Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss). The show has three central characters, Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo, who are played by Ishikawa Kaito (Days, Haikyuu!!, My Hero Academia), Seto Asami (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, B: The Beginning), and Hidaka Rina (Sword Art Online, Bakuman) respectively.

Cinema Trips 'Spider-Man: Far From Home'
Spider-Man: Far From Home is the second stand alone Spider-Man film that exists within the continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film stars Tom Holland (The Impossible, The Lost City of Z, In the Heart of the Sea), Jacob Batalon (Every Day, Banana Split, Blood Fest), Jon Favreau (Chef, John Carter, Friends), and Zendaya (The Greatest Showman, Smallfoot, The OA) as part of the returning cast as Peter Parker, Ned, Happy and M.J. respectively. Joining the cast is also Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, The Red Violin, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace), and Jake Gyllenhaal (Donnie Darko, Nightcrawler, Brokeback Mountain) playing the established Nick Fury and newcomer to the universe Mysterio. Director John Watts (Clown, Cop Car), and writers Chris McKenna (Igor, The Lego Batman Movie, Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle), and Erik Sommers (The Lego Batman Movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) return behind the camera. The film runs for 129 minutes.

In Hindsight: 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'
How a film is released can be the reason audiences sit down for it, or the exact opposite. Sometimes it's a limited release, a common instance for smaller films, and then maybe it's because it's just not the right time of the year. The latter reason has plagued many would-have-been big films over the years. These problems lead to good films being lost on many potential fans.
