'The Happytime Murders' - Review (Netflix)
Private investigator, Phil Philips (Bill Barretta-voice) works in the City of Angels, Los Angeles. He is a puppet. As in a Muppet puppet. Working out of an office in Chinatown, he turns up for work to be told by his assistant, Bubbles (Maya Rudolph) that he has a new client. In his office is Sandra White (Dorien Davies-voice) the sexiest puppet he has seen in a while. She tells Phillips that she is being blackmailed, and shows him the ransom note.

'Chopsticks'—Review (Netflix)
Ummm. I don’t know. I really don’t know what to make of Chopsticks, an Indian language film showing on Netflix. It is a sweet film and definitely an enjoyable watch. It is well directed by Sachin Yardi, who also came up with the story. The amusing screenplay is by Rahul Awate.

Watching 'Kakegurui xx'
Kakegurui xx is the second season to the 2017 anime Kakegurui, that was produced by studio MAPPA. It carries on where the previous season left off, where Jabami Yumeko is constantly gambling at Kyakkaou Academy for the simple pleasure of gambling. Although, around her there are constant struggles for power, clan power dynamics, high school hierarchies (in a very literal sense), and students simply trying their best to survive the hand that they had been dealt. As it was with the previous season, this is an outlandish show, with ridiculous characters, nonsensical narrative points, ludicrous stakes, all contained inside a mind numbingly stupid concept.

'Black Mirror' Season 5: Not the Finest Hour
Black Mirror is a historically strong show. It’s one of my favorite shows, to be honest. I was excited to see what this newest season would bring. Seeing the casting, I was a little nervous. With the three episodes starring Anthony Mackie, Andrew Scott, and Miley Cyrus in each, I wondered if the star power of these well-known actors would overshadow the writing and big ideas the show is known for.

'Dark Phoenix' Review
I was very excited walking into this movie. I’m a huge fan of the X-Men movies, both the good and the bad. I love the heroes and their powers; I love the social commentary the movies invite. Even the worst movies, The Last Stand and Apocalypse, have some nice action scenes, and of course the classic Charles vs. Erik frenemy dynamic. Also, I’ll put my spoiler warning here, there are a few bits in here where I discuss the ending and what not.

Harry Potter vs Naruto
Odd topic choice, right? Harry Potter, the British wizard who defeated the Dark Lord, vs Naruto, the future Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village? Is this even a contest? No, not really. I'm just comparing them at the moment. Don't worry. You can attack the comment section later. Now, I selected these two is because they are very similar in certain ways. They came out around the same time, have similar styles to them, and their story-lines have a similar way of handling situations.

Watching 'Aggretsuko' Season 2
The second season of Aggrestuko dropped on Netflix on the 14th of June, 2019, and consisted of ten episodes. The show brings back much of the first season's creative talent and carries on the story of the red panda Retsuko as she navigates her way through life in the hopes of feeling fulfilled. This season expands on a lot of the themes that were set up in the previous season, brings some of the secondary characters to the forefront of the show, and even introduces new ones.

'A Silent Voice'
Disclaimer: Spoilers are unavoidable in an unfavourable critique. Because one has to explain themselves in far more detail than just the basics. I know there is a manga version. But not all people have the desire or the time to read all seven volumes. A movie, in contrast to an anime/manga lover like me, is quick stop. Especially, when Netflix allows you to watch it offline. The point, I am treating this review as an independent movie review, with no relation to the manga. This is not a movie VS manga contrast review.

'Game Over, Man!' - Review (Netflix)
Alexxx (Adam Devine), Darren (Anders Holm) and Joel (Blake Anderson) work in The Level hotel as a housekeeping team. They dream of being wealthy and have an idea for a video game. Alexxx keeps coming up with ridiculous ideas, Joel is a closet homosexual and Darren is a drug addict who gets his fixes from Alexxx. Alexxx, unbeknown to his two friends, lives in the hotel.

I don't think the movie, Fighting with My Family, was even on anyone's radar when it came to the theatres. Hardcore wrestling fans would of course flock to this movie, but would a general audience be interested in this movie?

'Little Italy' - Review (Netflix)
Vince Campo (Gary Basaraba) and Sal Angioli (Adam Ferrara) are best friends and pizza makers in Little Italy, Toronto, Canada. Their children, Leo and Nikki are close friends. Nikki has a crush on Leo, but never tells him. Leo and Nikki have always been competitive. The fathers fall out over a pizza contest, and end up in separate pizza restaurants. A teenage Nikki leaves, and goes to London to train as a chef.
