Learning to write a Bad Review. Top Story - November 2024.
I love reading bad reviews. It is where critics are at their funniest. If there are ten films worse than Bride Wars this year, I quit ... Everyone will tell you it’s a chick flick. Only in the sense that if you ground it up and fed it to battery hens it might be better served than running it through a projector.

Movie Review: "Swing Kids": What an Awful Way to Celebrate Christmas
‘Swing Kids’ is a Korean drama musical released in 2018 about prisoners of war who learn how to tap dance like the Yankees. It was a tough movie to watch. For me, this film totally redefined the expression "a blue Christmas". Here's why.

Simpsons Review: "Bart vs Thanksgiving". Top Story - November 2024.
Thanksgiving is upon us, and of course, that also means we receive some very good and memorable Turkey Day episodes of our favorite shows. There have been quite a few memorable Thanksgiving episodes over the decade; I still remember seeing one of Friends' Thanksgiving episodes that had the sextet playing football, while Joey and Chandler were fighting over a girl; that was a crazy one. Martin had quite a memorable Thanksgiving episode that featured the late, great John Witherspoon as one of Martin's relatives. There have been several different Thanksgiving episodes, but the best one had to be the first one from The Simpsons: "Bart vs Thanksgiving."

After exploring various reviews and discussions, I found that my long experience in film critique has shifted my perspective; I can no longer view a film purely as a spectator.

Wicked
So I have been waiting for the Wicked movie for a decade now. I have seen the show live three times and it has always been one of my favorite musicals. When the casting was released I was ecstatic for Cynthia Erivo to be Elphaba and cautiously optimistic for Ariana Grande to be Glinda. But now that I have seen the film I am happy to report that it exceeded any and all expectations that I thought I had. This movie could not have been better and I am going to spend the next few 100 words telling you why. Now this whole thing will be spoilers but the show has been around for decades now so this is really on you.

Ordinary Angels
Ordinary Angels came out earlier this year and it is very much on my Oscars watch list. From the second I saw this trailer I knew that this movie was going to cause me deep emotional issues. Both Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson were incredible casting choices and I know that I have Oscar opinions regarding this movie, but of course we also have the fact that this movie is based on a true story and the Academy loves that shit.
