The Snyder Cut
THE DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE From the outset, the DC Extended Universe touted itself as a film-maker driven enterprise. The DC Extended Universe was the creative product of a four-headed brain-trust of Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Geoff Johns and Christopher Nolan. The shared universe experience pioneered onto the cinematic screen by Marvel, was an experiment at Warner Bros. that gave greater creative control to the film-makers, allowing them to shape their vision and bring it to the big screen with some measures of failure or mixed reception in the case of Zack Snyder's 'Man Of Steel.' On the other hand, with Patty Jenkins' 'Wonder Woman' there was some measure of excitement and success.

‘House’ a Japanese Movie Cult Horror Classic
So last night we decided to watch ‘House’ a Japanese horror / comedy movie made in 1977. I knew nothing previously about this film other than it was on the British Film Institute’s playlist and so came with a good pedigree as I haven’t found many films on the BFI PLAYER that are bad films. I don’t like them all but even the ones I don’t like I can see that they are well made in one way or another.

Growing Out of Die Hard 2
Die Hard 2 is weird. Why make a sequel to Die Hard? How is the audience expected to believe that Bruce Willis’s John McClane would find himself in the midst of yet another terrorist plot with worldwide implications. That’s not exactly a regular occurrence for someone we assume is an NYPD Detective. Right off the bat, the movie is stretching credulity. Then the movie begins and we are slapped in the face with some of the more awkward opening scenes of a major action franchise.

The Haunted Mansion
Disney’s The Haunted Mansion Terrible but nostalgic There are great movies, bad movies, cult classics, and then there’s that strange category of terrible movies but you can watch again and not feel completely ashamed. I don’t think any other movie could properly define that category than The Haunted Mansion starring Eddie Murphy.

Review - Frozen 2
After it's early release in the US, "Frozen 2" has just arrived for home streaming via Disney + worldwide, so I thought now was a good time to take a look at the movie that had the unenviable task of following the highest grossing animation film of all time.

"Well that was a mistake.": A Bad Movie Review of Spiceworld (1997, Bob Spiers)
This was a mistake. A very big mistake. I wish I never ever remembered that this even existed. This movie, is a huge random mess. I cannot comprehend how this film came into being, how any decent writer, director or producer would come up with such an insane drug trip, that would put David Lynch to shame.

Classic Movie Review: The Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Rocky Horror Picture Show was remarkably ahead of its time. This bizarre burlesque of science fiction and monster movie tropes, by way of the musical, anticipates an entire subculture of sexuality and entertainment. Screenwriter Richard O’Brien was a genius and an outsider whose unique vision was perhaps too far ahead of its time in 1975 when the film was released to modest acclaim.
