‘My Own Private Idaho’ Is a Journey of Feelings
My Own Private Idaho is weird to watch for the first time. I don’t know what I was expecting, but a group of young male prostitutes with Shakespearean vernacular was not it. All I knew about this film was young Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix were the stars, which is really all I needed to hear.

What Next for 007?
I very much enjoyed ‘No Time to Die’ despite the reprobate tweens in front of me disturbing the whole cinema (mind I very much enjoyed watching them be removed by the staff). It had all the best things about a Bond movie turned up to 11. The villain. The gadgets. And that car chase about half way through is the best car chase I’ve ever seen on film.

Resident Evil: Welcome To Racoon City
The title alone says everything we need to know, Welcome To Racoon City! Every true fan will agree, the first franchise didn't just derail, it derailed and then blew up like the truck in the trailer for this movie. However, we'll save that subject for later. The main point is that it's finally happened... Sony is making what seems to be a reboot of the iconic franchise. The difference is that this time the director is one of us.., a hardcore fan of the original games that stole our gore-loving hearts over 20 years ago. Johannes Roberts has gone on the record himself stating that his team worked closely with Capcom for the production of this film.

No Thought: They Live and Anti-Capitalism
The dumb, camp humour of They Live makes it easy to forget what a sharp piece of satire it is. For a movie whose most famous scene involves Rowdy Roddy Piper sticking up a bank saying “I’m here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I’m all out of bubblegum” (who goes to the bank to chew bubblegum?), its ideas and iconography have stuck with and informed me when considering the social and political issues of today. They Live is a movie that just gets more and more relevant.

Movie Review: 'Passing' Starring Tessa Thompson
Passing stars Tessa Thompson as Irene, an upper middle class woman in 1920s New York City. Though Irene, or Reenie as some called her when she was young, is a black woman she occasionally fancies passing for a white woman using her light skinned complexion and just a little makeup. It’s the 1920s, a time in which even in a big city such as New York, there are privileges denied to people of color. It is while passing for white that Irene runs across a former childhood friend, Claire Bellew, played by Ruth Negga, in the dining hall of an upscale New York Hotel.

Why Fire In The Sky should be an addition to the Halloween collection
When it comes to the sci-fi genre, the alien premise can be a dime a dozen. The only ones that aren't a cash-in of other sci-fi horror story premises are the ones based off of a true story. It can't steal from other stories because it is a true story. The movie lists have been changing recently, and there’s one particular movie that I’ve seen pop up on numerous lists that have to do with Alien movies or alien movies based off true accounts. After seeing a familiar title on these movie lists, it’s sparked the interest, and I had to wonder, what is fire in the sky?

A Filmmaker's Guide: "Faust" (1926)
In this chapter of ‘the filmmaker’s guide’ we’re actually going to be learning about literature and film together. I understand that many of you are sitting in university during difficult times and finding it increasingly hard to study and I understand that many of you who are not at university or not planning on it are possibly stuck of what to do, need a break or even need to catch up on learning film before you get to the next level. This guide will be brief but will also contain: new vocabulary, concepts and theories, films to watch and we will be exploring something taboo until now in the ‘filmmaker’s guide’ - academia (abyss opens). Each article will explore a different concept of film, philosophy, literature or bibliography/filmography etc. in order to give you something new to learn each time we see each other. You can use some of the words amongst family and friends to sound clever or you can get back to me (email in bio) and tell me how you’re doing. So, strap in and prepare for the filmmaker’s guide to film studies because it is going to be one wild ride.

Marvel Had Meeting With Robert Downey Jr. for Doctor Doom Role
Marvel Had Meeting With Robert Downey Jr. for Doctor Doom Role Life before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was something else. It's astonishing to look back and see how far the genre has come. Films like Blade , X-Men , and Spider-Man helped make the foundation of the MCU possible.
