Dune: Part One
Fear is the mind-killer, in Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic, Dune. After nearly a year-long delay, the highly anticipated third adaption of Frank Herbert's novel has finally been released. Dubbed as an unfilmable movie, Denis Villeneuve will awe the audience with the film's visual, making one wish to see it on the biggest screen possible in theaters. However, the audience can still watch Dune on the small screen, on HBO Max with a subscription.

Review: "Finch"
Apple TV has had a great run as of late churning out hit after hit on the television front and lately with movies as well. Finch is the new addition to the streaming giant and features impressive visuals along with one of the greatest actors of our time in Tom Hanks. It is a tour de force by the talented actor in the hands of a lesser actor, the film would have folded upon itself. At first glance, you may think the film borrows from "I Am Legend" or "Mad Max" but it is not that kind of dire film. Instead, the focus is more on the connection that the protagonist has with his remaining family which happens to be an adorable dog and an endearing newborn robot. In a way, Finch is a bit of a fairy tale that borrows elements from Pinocchio as it is about a man whose interactions and experiences with life begin to be shared with the very robot he created to keep his beloved dog alive. As he shares his wisdom with the robot it begins to evolve into a mechanical real boy.

A Filmmaker's Guide: "Nightwatching" (2007)
In this chapter of ‘the filmmaker’s guide’ we’re actually going to be learning about literature and film together. I understand that many of you are sitting in university during difficult times and finding it increasingly hard to study and I understand that many of you who are not at university or not planning on it are possibly stuck of what to do, need a break or even need to catch up on learning film before you get to the next level. This guide will be brief but will also contain: new vocabulary, concepts and theories, films to watch and we will be exploring something taboo until now in the ‘filmmaker’s guide’ - academia (abyss opens). Each article will explore a different concept of film, philosophy, literature or bibliography/filmography etc. in order to give you something new to learn each time we see each other. You can use some of the words amongst family and friends to sound clever or you can get back to me (email in bio) and tell me how you’re doing. So, strap in and prepare for the filmmaker’s guide to film studies because it is going to be one wild ride.

Review: "Army of Thieves". Top Story - November 2021.
It seems rather odd that Netflix had green-lit a cinematic universe for Zack Snyder seemingly overnight even before seeing the returns on his entry film "Army of the Dead", but here we are with a prequel entry to said universe starring the eccentric wisecracking criminal fan-favorite Dieter. Snyder stays on the film as a producer and writer but passes his director chair off to the main star of the film in Matthias Schweighofer. Army of Thieves ends up being a surprisingly fun heist film and at times more fun than its predecessor but it hides some horrible pacing issues and horribly written bland characters with a flurry of kinetic editing.

The Harder They Fall
Jonathan Majors is really starting to become the man to watch. After his beautiful ride on Love Craft Country, we find him in The Harder They Fall, a wonderful take on a Western portraying a real person with a fiction narrative. I wasn’t going to watch, but the star power compelled me.

Movie Review: Kristen Stewart Oscar Worthy in Brilliant, Beautiful Princess Diana Biopic Spencer
If I may start out with an unexpected comparison, the film that the new Princess Diana biopic, Spencer, reminded me the most of was another movie released in 2021. Earlier this year, writer-director Emma Seligman’s debut feature Shiva Baby was released to some acclaim. That was a movie about a young Jewish woman caught up in a storm of emotional conflicts as she’s forced to attend a family gathering, in this case, a funeral wake, or in the Jewish tradition, Shiva.

Wild Dog Movie Review
He is a murderous machine, a father who fights for the death of his only daughter, a loyal officer who is committed to eradicating terrorist organizations, but he is also a handsome Nagarjuna who can kick bad guys, shoot guns without looking immature and make things believable. Surprisingly, the producers showed him his young father, which is understandable as Gokul's daughter was about to die during the reconstruction of the cinematic explosion of Gokul's dialogue.
