Are Lily and Billy about to split on 'The Young and the Restless'?

Ms. Winters/Ashby is making the same mistake as her predecessor Victoria and things might end badly.

When Billy and Lily first began dating, many fans of The Young and the Restless were hopeful. It seemed as though Billy Abbott was changing for the better and even Victoria noticed. Lily appeared to be bringing out the best in him and allowed him to be himself without judgment. Now, however, things are shifting and Ms. Winters/Ashby is quickly following in the footsteps of her predecessor.

Victoria was always trying to change her husband and comparing him with her father. Billy boy Abbot could never measure up to the great Victor Newman and it caused him all types of problems. Over the years Billy has gambled, drank heavily, and even dealt with DID, disassociative disorder. He formed an inappropriate friendship with Amanda while still married to Vicki and this was the beginning of the end of their marriage.

Bily and Lily were cute together and took things slowly at first. Victoria realized there was something special between them and began using the children to gain time with her ex. She is now either on purpose or unwittingly using her father to push Billy's buttons and it is working. This is also causing Lily to become possessive as Vicki used to be.

On Monday and Tuesday, Lily was shocked when Billy exhibited glimpses of who he truly is. He cornered Tara Locke and told her that Victor may have forced Ashton to sign papers while he was having his heart attack. Tara was stunned and said she only cared about her husband's health at this point ad Lily overheard the entire exchange. She told Billy he should have allowed Ashton to give his wife this information and admitted she was troubled by his behavior.

Victor Newman will always be Billy's Achilles heel and his addictive personality renders him unable to resist a chance to stick it to his former father in law. Billy is like adog with a bone when it comes to the Newman patriarch and now Victoria is against her father as well. The situation with Ashton Locke is the icing on the cake and Billy now is putty in the hands of whatever Victoria throws his way that is against her father.

Lily walked out on Billy because of his encounter with Tara Locke, but later the two made up. This is probably only the beginning of the end for them and Victoria will be right there to take her ex-spouse back. Between the children and their shared ire for Victor at this current time, the duo have a bond that Lily cannot break. Vicki is her father's daughter and can be as ruthless as her dad. Billy hates Victor and will chase down any lead that poves to expose possible crimes of his former father in law.

The desire to punish Victor Newman, along with Victoria dangling information in his face will be too much for Billy to resist. Lily may find that she is spending more time putting out fires than she is enjoying her relationship with Billy. Some Y&R fans believe the couple can weather the storms, even when they are coming from Vicki and her dad. Other viewers believe it's only a matter of time before Lily's principled attitude pushes her man right back into the arms of his ex.

Billy does not like women to smother him and he has had quite a bit of it from both Jill and Victoria. Right now, Lily is falling into that pattern, so Vicki may seem more desirable. Can Lily back off from criticizing her man, and will Billy be able to fight the urge to get the goods on Victor? Be sure to stay tuned to The Young and the Restless to find out what will happen next with this love triangle.
