The Wolf Goddess
A Short Story Inspired By The Painting By Angie Livingstone (The Glittering Fox)

Introduction
This is my seventeenth piece inspired by Angie Linvingstone's amazing artwork. You can find her on Facebook on the link below, and her comments on my work are very positive.
Here Etsy shop is here where you can by copies of her amazing work.
The Wolf Goddess
She stands on the snowy hill, her pack with her watching.
They see the world and wait for the day, guardians of the plain, looking out for all who live there and protecting them from unearthly and mystical threats.
Snow Demons and Wood Devils that come from the forests and hills and steal children from their beds and leave their parents in anguish. That was before the Wolf Goddess and her pack came to look out for them.
She stands with her staff spreading golden stars worn as decorative collars by her pack.
She shows her power and the Demons and Devils know that The Wolf Goddess could turn them to dust if they step out of line.
Some say that she is Freyja, Goddess of Thule and Scandi Countries, but no one could be sure, but she made life safer. Freyja has cats but The Wolf Goddess has wolves, but both protect their charges.
The people of the plains never see the Wolf Goddess and her pack but they know she is there, protecting them. The elders teach them about the wolf Goddess and how she is the protector of them and their children.
Sometimes there are storms on the plain, with thunder and lightning, and the people know that The Wolf Goddess is fighting with Snow Demons or Wood Devils and stopping them from threatening the people of the plain.
Sometimes children asked their parents what would happen if The Wolf Goddess left, and their parents always reassured them telling them that she had protected them as children and had always been there.
The children had faith in what their parents told them and then slept soundly.
The Wolf Goddess and her pack stood on the snowy hill, healing their wounds after a night of battle, protecting the people of the plain.
The Snow Demons and Wood Devils would always come back, but The Wolf Goddess and her pack would always be there for the people of the plain.
