Anything You Want
Maisy guided Serena to one of the tables in the cafeteria, indicating to have a seat. Serena complied, curious to see what Maisy intended. She noticed that Maisy had various supplies, including markers, colored pencils, blank sheets of paper, coloring sheets, etc., all arranged precisely on the table. Whatever it was, she meant business.

A Curse to Break; Chapter 2
"Where are you going, Lena?" I turn in surprise at the call. Tanya stands at the next intersection, looking at me curiously. There's no cunning or calculation in her gaze. I just couldn't get a read on her. She was the daughter of one of the lower nobles and only in her fifth month of life at court. I know she knows all the whispers; she had blatantly asked me about them shortly after her arrival. I figured she had only singled me out as a potential friend upon her arrival as I had seemed to be as much of an outcast as her. She was starting to make friends with the other ladies of the court, yet she still acted as if nothing had changed between us. Was this an act? Part of some larger scheme she was planning?

CHAPTER TWO
CHAPTER 2 Jenny pulled her dressing gown tighter, sitting in the half darkness of her boudoir. It was cold with the French doors open, but she didn't care. She was staring at her reflection in the bevelled mirror of her dressing table. She was also sipping a large glass of whiskey--neat--wondering where she'd gone wrong with her life. How could she have let herself fall for a man simply because he was in a uniform? How stupidly romantic was she, to think she could fall in love with a man she knew nothing about?

One of the angels comes to attack me and I struck him with my sword so hard that he vanished. None of the angels can harm me, I must be very powerful here, but I still don’t know whose side I’m on. I look up and I see a very bright light coming towards me, then before I could react it strikes me with a sword, then I woke up.
