The power of the aura and hidden symbols

Part 2 The apartment

By Dimitar AtanasovPublished 4 years ago β€’ 8 min read

The island remained behind Peter. It was not three or four kilometers from the shore. All that was left after the boat was a white trail in the calm sea. Peter was still pondering what had happened last night.

How lightning had struck the shed during the storm as the storm subsided, and then came the white light. He closed his eyes trying to remember something else. Suddenly he widened his eyes, he remembered, just before he fainted he grabbed his shoulder. He pulled on his T-shirt to look at the place.

He could not take his eyes off him for a few seconds, a clear and well-healed scar on his shoulder. He closed his eyes again and tried to return to the memory when a voice made him numb.

- Hello

Peter opened his eyes, and a girl no older than ten was standing in front of him under the fishing nets. He remained numb for a few more seconds. Then the girl spoke again

- Hello

- Hello

Peter replied. He wanted to say something else, but he was still shocked that there was a child in his boat. He was alone on the island if I don't count the strange scar on his shoulder that suggested the presence of another man. There was always one person per shift, and in the evening there was no way a boat could come in this storm.

"My name is Monica."

"I'm Peter, but how is that possible, and what are you doing here?"

Monica looked at him and didn't know how to explain.

"I don't know, I only remember one white light."

Monica had never lied before, but she promised Uncle Simon that she would do her best to save herself.

Her whole conscious life has been spent running with her uncle. They are persecuted by a brotherhood that aims to destroy all special people. Once they have almost destroyed Monica's world called Aura, they will move on to human reality, and they will destroy everything. The only thing stopping them was a handful of Auras like Monica herself.

Her father was the founder of the resistance of the creator of their world, but she had never seen him. He knew that before the Cherokees appeared, their world was shown a place filled with magic and love.

The Aura world was created to resemble human reality, but without anything bad. Cities are powered by alternative energy sources. There was no currency and everyone was equal. The cohabitants were in complete harmony with the human world and even helped them a lot.

Some of the influential Auras were corrupt and opposed to order and harmony. An army rose up, aided by a circle of rich people from the other reality. They were called the Cherokee Order. They managed to attract many of the auras of their country in a short time. They created terrible creatures, and their leader created a new black aura. Called the aura of the corrupt. She had no equal and only a few could oppose her. The war was a fact, soon the world of Aura was almost destroyed, and the Cherokees pursued anyone who opposed them. So for years, Simon hid Monica in the human world, constantly moving from place to place, but the Cherokees had many supporters among the people and persecuted them tirelessly.

The night before he handed it over to Peter, he had no choice. Simon was found by the black queen, and she inflicted many injuries on him. He barely made it to Monica and Europort. He trusted his aura that she would find the right place and the right person she could trust to raise Monica. He used the last spell left in his Aura to hide. The terrible storm that set in over the island was caused by him. When Simon marked Peter with a scar on his shoulder, he made him Monica's guardian. After the bright light, she looked up at the sky and saw white thick smoke rising, and she knew she would never see Simon again, he had sacrificed his life for her. Less than a minute later, black portals appeared in the sky around the island and the Cherokees who were looking for her began to arrive. But after Simon's magic, his aura had filled the island with so much magic that searchers failed to detect Monica. The searchers looked awful. They were created to pursue their victims indefinitely. Tall with red skin so rough that it looked like sandpaper. Their faces were tested, they neither eat nor sleep, they just chase. There were two huge holes in their eyes, and they had the sign of the black aura on their hands. When they touch you, all the horror gathered during their years of service pours into you. Monica had been told that if it touched a seeker, you would feel the whole world die before your eyes hundreds of times, and then you would never be the same.

She couldn't give this information to Peter at least once, she had to gradually explain it to him or not tell him at all.

They continued to sail to the shore in complete silence. Peter was determined to take Monica to the police and leave her there. After all, that's exactly what the cops were doing, they were going to find her family and move on. The police station was right next to Peter's apartment. The moment they stopped in front of him

he noticed something strange. There were too many people inside, and they looked rather strangely dressed. They were all knee-length leather coats. They waved and explained something to the policeman, who shrugged and waved. Peter held Monica's hand and led her to the site itself, but the scar on his shoulder began to hurt unbearably as if he had been stabbed by millions of needles at once. His legs stopped moving in that direction, and he couldn't take another step toward this building. He had no choice, and on top of that, his inner feeling told him that something was fine.

- Come on, let's rest, we'll see what to do.

Monica grabbed him even harder by the arm and they went straight into the restaurant above which his apartment was located. The curious Mrs. Lewis immediately looked up and asked.

"Oh, Peter, you have guests, who are the little lady?"

"I'm his niece and my name is Monica."

She answered without even giving Peter time to answer anything.

- To have a guest for a few days.

- Well done, well done, I understood what happened this morning, I'm very glad you're fine.

Peter nodded kindly and looked at Monica

She sensed that this lie happened instinctively, and without even thinking she lied for the second time today. She and Peter climbed the narrow, old stairs that led to the rooms.

"What do you think you're doing? Now the whole town will ask me about you what I have to tell them."

Monica's eyes filled with tears, and she shrugged meekly. They both had no idea what to do. Peter made her bed and made one of the thicker quilts on the ground for him and invited her to sleep because they were both tired. Just before sunset, he woke up, looked at the bed, and realized that this was not the dream he wanted. He hurried down to buy dinner and had to come up with a plan.

"Hey Peter, where are you?"

Monica had woken up and panicked that Peter had left and she was left alone. She had never been alone before, but she was determined to make it because she had promised her uncle. Different plans came to her mind to act from here to dad. Then she suddenly realized that she was alone in the world, curled up in the corner of the bed, and began to cry.

At that moment the door opened, and he entered with a tray of hands. He had bought dinner for both of them. Monica jumped for joy and hugged him, almost knocking down dinner.

"You didn't leave me."

"I will not abandon you."

- Do you promise?

"I promise."

Every cell in Peter's body knew he had to take care of this girl.

He had no experience raising children, but he knew they had to eat too.

"I hope it's tasty after we eat."

Monica looked at him and shook her head. She knew very well that in the police station they were of the Order and were looking for her. There was no way she could be happier. She began to eat the soup that had already filled the room with its unique aroma of fresh herbs and lemon juice.

After traveling for more than four hours, the car began to slow down, and Monica asked where they were.

Because of Peter's family-owned properties across the country, he had chosen a hunting lodge that no one had used for years but was his favorite. The villa was on the shore of a small pond, and there was a moored boat on the pier. When he saw the boat, he realized that from now on life would not be the same, but it was gaining meaning. He would have abandoned his old little boat, which he made with so much love, and named it after the girl he loved, but here began a new page in his life.

Behind the villa, there is a huge oak forest that was teeming with life. On the other side of the lake rose a huge rock in which many mosses and bushes were intertwined, and on one of the two peaks, there was a low tree with a thick stem. The other peak was slightly protruding above the water and reflected in it in an incredible way.

"We'll be safe here for now."

Monica took a deep breath and closed her eyes. It was as if he had experienced all the peace he had in the world at once. Only the many birds, crickets, and other animals could be heard. It was a symphony of the quiet life. She knew she was protected here, and that she could trust Peter completely.

When they entered she was very surprised. The villa was extremely cozy. Peter finally felt that the feeling of anxiety in him was gone, and the scar no longer hurt.

"Where's my room?"

Peter took her hand and they went up to the second floor. He pointed to a door, and Monica opened it and gasped. It was just for girls, the walls were pink, and there were plush toys everywhere. There was even a large pink unicorn, which immediately reminded her of the stories her uncle told her about how unicorns and all the other mythical creatures that once lived on earth were brought to the world aura to remain hidden from humans.

"But how is there a room for me in this hut?"

"This is my sister's room when you were your age."

- As they say, when will you meet us.

There was sadness on Peter's face, and he seemed to miss Gergana, who was a year younger than him. He had missed him more and more in the last few months.

- Her name is Gergana and I don't know when you will meet and this will happen, let's drive one by one.

He did not know how to explain to a ten-year-old girl that he had decided not to see his family and had not done so for more than two years. The only thing he was sure of was that the storm on the island would change his life completely, and not just his, but Monica's. He had almost forgotten what it was like to have a family, but somehow he knew he could handle it. He had made sure that this villa was his protected place on the day he left home. It would now be a safe place for both of them.
