Secrets of a Peerless Paramour
There weren’t always dragons in the valley, or at least it didn’t appear that way. The valley, situated between the land of forbidden fantasies and the Kingdom of Casablanca was not frequently traveled since the pandemic began and it was certainly not a place to travel through at night for fear of creatures from the forbidden land straggling nearby in hopes of finding human remains to feed on—or at least that was the story told by the elders. They never tired of telling stories of the things they had seen, felt and recovered from. Children often gathered around them during social events hoping to find a semblance of understanding. They wondered where the dragons were during day light hours. Rumor was that they were afraid of humans even though it was the humans that left food for them each night as a token of appreciation for their protection.

World on Angelfire
Sachiel had always been of the belief that God must have been on one hell of a roll when he created mankind. Yes, Adam and Eve had their flaws. But the legacy they would gift the earth, those very imperfections, were in her opinion the very thing that made humanity so perfect. She would never dare voice this to the others, to do so would be near treason. But it was a viewpoint that never wavered in its strength and conviction.

Welcome to Mantra!
Still free-falling and screaming, Stefanie, Milo, and Palomar rubbed their eyes from a blinding light, revealing a land more colorful than back home. Suddenly, a giant purple bubble engulfed them inside safely. The group took in a deep breath as a sign of relief. They knew they were far from home. Each one looked around to take in the scenic views of the vibrant place while riding in their new transportation. The roaring, sandy hills glistened from a distant north; the vast, gentle sea echoed from the east with three small islands; and the multicolored fields would never be ignored from its shimmer in the west. The whimsical landscapes amazed the teens.

Dragons in the Valley
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. But they’ve been there for several generations before Alenor. His grandfather would pass on stories to him of a time before they entered the valley. A time when only the humans and the fae lived. Fae that were bent on destroying the human race. Corrupting humans with their way of life. Forcing their genetics onto other humans. Before the dragons soared in with their massive wings to drive out the fae from harming humanity.

Tallie's Mark
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. There were once scuffed-up Tonka trucks and one-legged G.I. Joes bungee-corded to the beds, their arms bent around beer bottles and packs of Marlboro Lights as plastic wheels skid-scuttled to the bottom of the hill. There, where the tree had fallen but not yet rotted, where next to it, the grass did not grow, Tallie carved their initials.

Were There Ever Dragons in The Valley?
There weren't always dragons in the valley. At least that's what everyone in the central villages loves to say. What the fuck does that even mean, there weren't always dragons in the valley. Who cares. Like now, we have some super-spaz Village leaders, the CSS, and all sorts of fascist ass ish. And it is like every time I say something people bring up that there weren't always dragons in the valley.

Jaycee and Precious the Dragon
“There weren’t always dragons in the valley. In fact, when I was your age, I didn’t even believe dragons were real.” I tell this to my granddaughter Jaycee, who asked right away if I have always had a dragon. Jaycee has just been dropped off by her mother, who didn’t even get out of the car.
