Try Largo Family Restaurant instead of a Buffet

Great Menu with Family Style Ambiance

If you've read my local restaurant reviews then you know that I'm a fan of greasy spoons and buffets. Today I'd like to review something a bit different. Do you like Dennys or IHOP or Waffle House or Cracker Barrel? Me too! However, those famous restaurants are typically known for their breakfast menu. If you're craving some fried liver and onions, you don't want to go to those. I have a great suggestion if you're in the Clearwater area. Try Largo Family Restaurant located at 788 Missouri Avenue. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and they have a terrific menu.

I've been there several times and I've always been satisfied. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting. It has a large dining room and reminds me of Cracker Barrel except it doesn't have a gift shop or a front porch with rocking chairs. But it does have a Dinner Menu!!! Better than a Denny's burger, and better than some fried chicken from anywhere. Pork Chops? Yep. Steak? Yep. Sausage? Yep. I haven't had the veal, but that's a rare menu item. Like sandwiches? Yes, they have a Ruben. Vegan? They can accomodate. Like Dessert? They have those too.

The servers are nice and friendly. You probably won't have to wait for a table and though the food is fresh, it is delivered to your table without too long of a wait. The prices are reasonable. It's a nice family country style atmosphere with a wide variety of menu items and you don't have to break the bank.

When I try a new diner, I often order a BLT. That's such a simple sandwich and it's very hard to mess that up. So if you just want to get a feel for a new place, that's the item that is usually safe. However, if you are more daring you could try something like meatloaf or a seafood dish. I haven't had Largo Family's meatloaf or seafood so I don't know how well they do on those. I tend to order seafood at a restaurant that specializes in Seafood, and I'm extremely picky about meatloaf, so I don't order that at any restaurant.

Largo Family Restaurant is not a greasy spoon or a breakfast joint. It's also not a buffet restaurant. It's a family style, sit down and look over the menu experience. It's not self-serve. You will have a server. It's not taste everything on the menu in one visit. It's pick something safe or try your luck.

I do recommend this restaurant, but if you order something that doesn't please you, I hope that you will remember your manners and be kind to the server anyway. It's not as fancy as Cracker Barrel, but it does have more to offer for dinner options. It's not Corporate or National like Denny's, but I'd bet you'll enjoy their burgers as much or more so. Want breakfast after church? Try Largo's. Want lunch after shopping? Try Largo's. Want a nice dinner without the long waiting line? Try Largo Family Restaurant.

It's always fun to go to the buffet. It's always fun to rush through the drive thru for your favorite meal deal. It's always fun to get breakfast at a greasy spoon. But a family style, sit down and watch your manners restaurant experience is more than fun. It's special.

Give Largo Family Restaurant a chance. Good food, good service, good value. It's all good at Largo's Family Restaurant.
