A Diet Refocus
The April sun seemed especially strong. The dandelions had just appeared recently and were a beautiful, bright yellow. I hopped around the yard taking in the beautiful view. I had not picked my nest yet but knew this backyard would be a good place. There looked to be a nice garden at the east end of the lawn. Asparagus was already peeking through. I hoped there would be carrots later in the year. Hopping along the fence line, I found some tall grass that was going to seed and stopped to take a few bites.

Memories of Baking with Mama
I have a few great memories of baking with my mother. She's a great cook and incredibly talented at anything she puts her mind to so I learned a lot by watching and assisting her. I made it a point in life to try to spend some time in the kitchen with all the people who mattered most to me and become a sort of living recipe book by learning their particular tricks of the culinary trade. I've been fortunate to actually learn a lot of diverse cooking with some really incredible people and if there is one thing besides music that can unite people of all walks of life it is food!

A minor change of plans
My mom always said she had to have something sweet to eat after her meals. Especially lunch and dinner, she said she never felt quite satisfied. Now, this truly could have been solved by some sessions with a nutritionist, but who am I to judge. As a nutritionist and devout vegan for 26 years, I would love to give her food advice if she asked.

Mama Eze's Jam Cake: A 19th Century Recipe Gets a Vegan Makeover. First Place in Vegan Bake-Off.
History and food. You may not think the two go hand in hand, but as a longtime teacher and student of history and an enthusiastic foodie, I believe that one of the best ways to study the past is through...you guessed it, cooking and eating.

Perfectly imperfect gingerbread creations
These imperfect little beauties are even yummier when you know how much fun has been had making them. The spicy scent encompassing your kitchen when they’re baking is divine. They are a super-quick bake and a real crowd-pleaser. I have served these to friends at coffee-mornings and children at birthday parties, and they always get a thumbs up. The other bonus is that they are perfect at any time of year.

Vegan Iced Lemon Blueberry Scones
When I was 14 years old my mother entered the kitchen to find me doubled over in pain, clutching my abdomen, and crying. Cramps, she thought as she rubbed my back. Well yes, but I wasn’t having my period. I had just come from soccer practice, sweaty, thirsty and tired, and was drinking my second big glass of cold, creamy milk. So satisfying. That is, until it felt like my intestines were trying to escape from my body.

Vegan Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cupcakes with Choco/Coconut Whipped Cream Frosting.
I am NOT a Vegan. With that said... I have several Vegan recipes that will delight even the most skeptics' tastebuds. I have learned to cook and bake vegan foods as my best friend/ roommate is Vegan. I like my food to taste "real" for lack of better wording. To do that I prefer to use natural ingredients. Tend to stay away from the Soy and I have yet to have even one non-vegan even guess that my food was vegan. I usually tell them after they say it tastes amazing. This recipe is one of my favorites. I gleaned a few recipes and mish-mashed them together to create this. For the adults... this can be turned into an alcoholic cupcake... super fun and easy to do... it has a lovely kick too ;) That portion of the recipe will be in the p.s notes. On to the recipe...

Baked Grouper in a Snap
Easy to Make Baked Grouper Whenever I go to a restaurant specializing in seafood, I love trying new ways of eating my favorite fist. Two of my favorites are salmon and grouper. I have been cooking salmon at home for a long time without hesitancy. Recently, I got the nerve to actually cook grouper, sometimes referred to as the Poor Man’s Lobster, (my favorite fish) at home.

Top 6 Banana Smoothies You Must Try Once In Your Life
What so special about smoothies.? The consumption of food has changed over the period of time, the importance of food can't be neglected, in the modern world, where there a lot of cookery programs, telling people to cook in different ways, as cooking has been versatile over the period of time. One thing that can't be ignored here is the choice of food, when it comes to "Smoothies" the best what I like about is that, we have raw and natural fruits, when fruits and veggies are in the raw state they tend to provide more nutrients benefits to our body, hence making the "Smoothies" can be so special for everyone.
